I was wondering about natural soy and lead free candles. Are they safe for the birds? The QPs in particular in my case. Also, one other question. What about parsley? I really love it. Can I give it to my birds?

Thanks,
Andrea

Natural soy and beeswax candles with lead free wicks are technically 'bird safe' but you still have to be extremely careful and make sure the fid(s) are in their cages so there is no risk of them flying into the candle itself! wink.gif I know many people will argue that no candles are safe around birds but as long as they are safely locked away in their cage it should be okay.

Parsley is a tough one. unsure.gif Some bird sites say it's safe in small amouts, some say it's not. wacko.gif They say that parsley, garlic, onions etc. all affect their red blood cells... so Casey doesn't get them. wink.gif But I think they would have to eat a lot to affect them negatively though...

Others should have some more insight! smile.gif Hope that helps!

I agree with what Casey's Mom said ... parsley in small amounts shouldn't be an issue.

As for the candles, I do not burn any that are not specifically marketed as being birdsafe. If you want a link to order them from, just drop a PM to me.
