Hello,
I have a Quaker Parrot who is still eating formula. He/She is very sweet, easy to handle, and we have named the bird Apples. Apples is about 6-7 weeks old (says the Vet) was treated for a broken wing, Apples will never fly again.
I am giving up the Bird because I have learned that-although birds are wonderful, I was not ready for this responsibility and I already have a lot on my plate. We live in Chicago, IL, Apples come with a large cage, bedding, toys, and in perfect health (the Doctor says he shouldn't have to come back until next year).
Because of his the stressful condition I found him in (I think Apples is a boy) Apples has plucked a few feathers from his upper chest/neck. The doctor says that it is not serious, however I have kept an eye on him-just in case-he seems to do it when he is agitated, and bored.
If you choose my bird, I encourage you to spend as much time as possible with him, and give him plenty of toys. Also I strongly suggest the Abundance Weaning Method (you can find an article on this site).
Please let me know if you are interested. There is a 300$ price tag, for all including the bird.
