Honest, I went to Petsmart just to get another rope Comfy Perch for Clyde for the top of his cage since he likes to sit up there and I didn't think it looked comfortable to stroll back and forth on the bars. But they had these birdy gyms on the shelf underneath, all different kinds, and one of them was made like a school playground. It has monkey bars, a swing, a rocking horse, a tether ball and a teeter-totter, all bird-sized. And it's just the right size to set on top of his cage. Of course, he won't go near it, but once he gets used to it, I hope he'll enjoy it. Anyone else have one of these or something similar? How long before your baby was willing to approach it?

I think Dolce's dad, Kent, got one for Dolce. Apparently Dolce likes to untie the knots on the swing

Hey there --- funny you should share.
I JUST BOUGHT THE SAME ONE (and at Petsmart)
I bought this one for my quaker.
I tood the rocky horse off immediately when I noticed that my conure bit the handle on one side of the head right off and I thought
he could choke on it. THat piece is now gone.
However, my quaker seems to like so far.
It is really cute -- I wish it was a little bigger as I have a large quaker for only 8 weeks old.
But -- yes I am the same way -- I go and go and go and end up with way more than I intended on getting, especially in bird toys.

That's hilarious! We must have all made a stampede to Petsmart today. I saw that cute school play stand as well. I ended up getting this one though b/c it was on sale.

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?...7#RatingsDetailI almost bought that one. Even had it in my hand headed for the checkout, but I just couldn't resist the tiny little teeter totter and tether ball.

Here I sit giggling as I to was at Petsmart today (the puppers needed more food and its on sale at Petsmart. I looked at the bird gyms and saw one I like but its 34.00, I know I can build one cheaper but it was pretty and could even be hung from the ceiling or table mounted! I left there and went to a local mom and pop store to see what they have and bought some hand feeding formula as I dont think Mickey is as weaned as the breeder thought (either that or he is reverting from being moved) and even though I had spent $30 on ROudybush yeterday I bought a TINY bag of Zupreem colored pellets to add to his cage in hopes of enticing him to eat more stuff! lol
On a other bird note, our Parakeet has only been w/ us for about a month and he is already trying to talk, (I cant tell what he is saying but he is trying) AND he is doing that whistle that people do when they want someones attention!!

I went in to Petsmart today after visiting Zazu just to see what they had.
They had a pretty cool looking wall mounted bird gym. It closes up and has 2 8x10 (I think...) picture frames for doors so when your bird is done playing, you can close it up and it just looks like two pictures.
It was listed as being $59 and marked down to $12.50 My store had 2 of them (I thought it was too small for a quaker but it could work, it pictured a cockatiel on the box) I looked online at Petsmart but could not find a picture of it.

Lindsey C, I have that same play stand. It works out great because you can use it wherever and it is easy to clean, some of the color does wipe off though, but I believe it is a food dye. I also use the ladder at the bottom of Mollie's cage so she can climb up to the first perch.

I really like it so far; Sprout on the other hand is not so sure. I can rarely get him to stay on it.
Any tips?

Just keep putting Sprout on it. Sometimes I put it on the dinning table and sit in the chair and show Mollie the swing, the bell, put her on the ladder and the rope etc... she then tries the different things. She has yet to play with those big plastic things?

That's funny. Sprout doesn't really like those either. He sometimes mistakenly steps on them and they throw off his balance-- resulting in some angry mumbles on his part. He sat on it for a while this evening. Then he just flies to me for cuddles

I bought one of the school playpens, put it together, and let Bugsy try it out. It quickly became apparent that the playpen is much too small for him. I quickly passed it to Jane for her love bird.

I have the same one that LindseyC has.. Sage loves the bell and the rope! unfortunately it was missing the swing, but i just tied some toys to the eyelets and he likes swinging those around. today, like the rest of you

, i was at petsmart, and didnt see the playground one, but bought him another playstand, more for parakeets and cockatiels, for when we travel. he played with it today, but i have to glue it tonight.. its way too unstable right now. the playground one is adorable though!!

Clyde still won't go anywhere near his. He's such a stick in the mud.

I even put his very favorite sunflower seeds in the treat cup to bribe him, but he just sits safely on my shoulder and squawks his "gimme treats NOW!" sound and expects me to hand him the seeds instead of getting onto the playground and getting them himself. So for my next bribe, I'm trying not giving him sunflower seeds at all -- and he only gets a few for special treats the way it is -- until he wants one so badly he'll climb on there and get one.
Yesterday I bought him a baby teething ring with little rings that slide around the outside, and I put it on top of his cage so he could examine it before I put it inside, and he sat at the furthest side away from it and made threatening beaky faces at it but wouldn't touch it.
