I need to get my house painted soon. I have not done it in almost 3 1/2 years since I got Joey. I went to a paint shop and they told me odorless paint was safe about Joey or that I could put a bucket of water with vinegar in it and that would also remove the fumes. Does anyone know if any of this is true facts?

If you move Joey into a different room away from the paint and you have good ventilation ie keep the windows open etc. then it should be okay. smile.gif I have heard about adding natural things to the paint (I think I've heard vanilla?) to get rid of the smell but I would think it just masks the smell? unsure.gif

I'd highly recommend Sico paints though, they are low VOC and barely have an odour. wink.gif

Happy painting! smile.gif

Thanks I will look into that brand of paint! wub.gif

Low VOC paints are the way to go for your birds as well as for you. These work very well. I still put my birds in the room farthest from the painted room and keep a window open in the birds room.
