I know we have seen some other members meet up from other states...what about doing a "get together" for us michiganders? Summer is almost over and I know once the school season starts it'll be even harder for me. but I head to the GR area every now and then since my best friend lives there. and I know we have at least 1 or 2 kazoo members....so what do you think? maybe we could meet up at the livonia pet store. is that central for people? i would love to hear any input on this.

Hey Skipper! I'd LOVE to have a Michigan meet-up ... BUT Livonia is clear over by Detroit ... 120 miles from me in Kalamazoo and 150 miles from Grand Rapids ... YIKES!!! Grand Rapids might be a better meet-up place ..... or even Jackson ... Jackson is half way tween Livonia and Kalamazoo, but still a bit far from GR. GR would work for me and Ringo's Mom, Rose, I know. Not sure where YOU are, tho.

Oh I remember, yer up by Ludington ... GR would work ... or Ionia ... Ionia is about half way tween Ludington and Detroit area, and about same distance from me so if everyone from Michigan wanted to come would be just about same distance

That would work for me. Ionia State Park is where I went camping earlier this summer so I'm good with that. a picinic would be great! and I don't know how big we want this to get ...hehehe, but depending on the weekend I may have 3 little tag alongs. Is this something where we want to bring the "other halves" for some and the kiddos? or do we want to make it more a QP forum group thing first?

I would think family picnic/potluck would be a lot of fun ... the more the merrier ... any other Michigan forum members??

I am looking at August 16 or 23 (Saturdays) to meet up at the Ionia Fairgrounds ... easy to find as it's right on M66, north of I96 (main highways) ... bring a dish to pass and plan to have FUN!! Fids optional (if they travel well in a carrier and you can keep them safe [i.e. harnessed] they would be welcome) we don't want any accidents or heartbreak.

LOL Way to rally there Jo! I know Skipper won't be able to go (He HATES being on a leash/harness/carrier) but it would be soo cool to meet some other fids!!! I didn't even think about that!! If we do it on the 23rd I'll have my girls-but I'm good with the 16th. It'll just mean a smaller group (and prob. quiter....lol)

The 23rd works better for ME, but maybe not for some others. Just trying to see if SOME MICHGAN PEOPLE want to MEET UP!!!

I have a wedding shower to go to on the 23rd, but might be able to do both. I wish I could bring Ringo along, but he won't let a harness near him. Might mess up his do ya know??

Oh by no means is it set for the 23rd yet Not enough ppl have chimed in. It can be the 16th if that works better for the majority. For that matter we could do it the 30th ....... BUT that is Labor Day weekend..........

I would rather stay away from Labor day weekend myself. And I'm open to the 16th. the only differance for me between the two weekends is like I said. It'll be 1 showing up for the PaRtY or 4 if my 3 girls come. Other then that I'm open!! I really hope some more Michiganders show some intrest!! The more the merrier!!!

For that matter, if a Sunday afternoon would work better for some, that is another option.... sure would help if more Michigan ppl were chiming in ...

We are in the Toronto area so it would be about a 5ish hour drive each way... we were actually just in the Flint/Frankenmuth/Birch Run area earlier this week and it's not much farther from there but it's probably too far to drive again this summer!

Frankenmuth..This is one of my most favorite places in MI!! Lots of good childhood memories there!! I was born in Bay City and then when I was 5 moved to the other side of the state. But as my kids are getting older we will start our Frankenmuth trips soon!! ( we always get our "special" christmas ornaments there!!) If you make that trip again another year let me know!:)

I was wondering about the same thing myself!! I did get my weekends screwed up and I will have my girls with me. Unless my friend will watch them for me since she is in GR. I don't think she would have a problem with that. I wonder if they will be to geeked up going out to a resturant AND meeting new people!! LOL....god love em.... unless I will be meeting some VERY understanding people!!

There is a Denny's on Plainfield at I-96 exit (just north of Fuller Ave). There are a lot of OTHER eateries up that way too. Or on the E Beltline off I-196 ... There's a nice Applebee's on E Beltline just north of the Meijer Gardens towards Knapp ...

OOOPPPS!!!

I just got tickets to the race at MIS next weekend from one of our vendors. The race is on Sunday, but we may go down on Saturday and visit with family for the day. Then we won't have to leave here early on Sunday. Not sure what our plan is yet but I'll post as soon as I know! Hopefully will have something figured out by the end of this week.

I would love to come but have previous engagements to attend. We are getting together with our Puppy owners on the 23rd for a reunion of last years litter at Fell Park in Battle Creek that day and the weekend before (the 16th/17th of August) my husband bought tickets to take me to the NASCAR race at MIS so I can meet my favorite driver. And I have to work this weekend, so I guess that leaves me out this time around. However I would have loved to join you all!
