Zephyr's mommy

Zephyr has been vomiting since late last night. I don't think it is regurgitation because she has done it at least 5 times I have seen, and I had never seen her do this until last night. She did get a hold of a cookie last night... I don't think she ate much before I got it away from her, though. She is also being much quieter than normal and seems very tired. I can't find an avian vet in my area... any advice? Should I be worried?

Yes, you should be very concerned and a vet visit is in order IMMEDIATELY! If you are not sure if she is vomiting or regurging for you, you need to have her checked out. Vomiting can be a very serious sign of awful illness. Please keep us posted on how she is and what the vet says.

Ok I found an exotic pets vet clinic about an hour from me. My boyfriend is getting ready to take her in. I can't go because I can't miss work....I hope everything is okay. I am so worried about my baby. Zephyr has only thrown up once in the last 45 minutes, but she is still acting very tired. She is still eating, which is good. I'll let everyone know how the vet goes. Thanks.

Eating is a good sign.
It could be just a yeast infection which is easy to clear up but of course the vet has to determine that.
Keep us posted.

Ok... update on Zephyr! She is spending the night with the vet and getting some fluids and rest. She hasn't been vomitting since about 2 this afternoon. I am going to call and check on her again bright and early, but the vet thinks everything is okay. I can't wait to go pick her up... it seems too quiet without her here!

Thanks to all for your concern and I will update you when she is home!

Hopefully it was just a something she ate that dissagreed with her. Make sure you follow through with any vet recomended tests though.

Glad to hear that she seems to be improving. Did the vet give you any ideas as to what it could be?

I still haven't got to pick Zephyr up from the vet yet.... This morning she wasn't eating and had diarhea. So they were running some more tests. I should know more in the morning. I will try to update everyone... I am in the process of moving on top of everything, so I am so stressed out. I just want my baby to be well and home. Keep your fingers crossed!
