So my bird that is 3 years old has this new thing that he is doing...When I come up close to his cage he jumps on the middle perch and starts blabbing and bobbing his head and body, almost like he is singing and dancing. It's pretty cute, but he will lunge at my hand if I try to touch him. And while he is doing this his makes a hiss sound. He will keep lunging over and over till I take my hand away. He actually bit me very hard and did not want to let go. Now that he is doing this, he is talking alot more...Actually responding to me. I don't get it. huh.gif Any ideas? Please help!

This is the time of year that Mature birds nest. The tend to get a little grumpy and cage terrortorial. Helpful tips: Move the toys around that are in his cage, if you can move perches around move them too. Buy a few new toys, and different size (how fat or thin they are) perches and maybe some rope perches. Give him a toy that he can shred that is safe-adding machine paper the whole roll. (Find a way to hang it for him so he / she can pull the paper off as needed) Make a newspaper octopus and hang it in or outside his cage. I always put mine outside the cage for playtime outside of the cage. Make sure his/her wings are trimmed as a flighty bird can be more aggressive than a dependent bird. Move the cage itself to a new location, when you can keep the bird from seeing you do it. I am sure others will be along with more tips.

Oh and push gently into the bites rather then pulling away. It's the best way to stay on top of bitting and aggressive behavior.
