Hello there.
Just wanted to introduce myself formally although I have posted a couple times already.
I am new to this forum though not to QPs. I was sort of looking into getting a bird when I stumbled across the post about "Apples" on this forum. I instantly knew I wanted him and now after what seemed like an eternal wait he finally came home tonight.
He is approx. 6 weeks old and was found by his former owner/rescuer/hero under a tree with a broken wing. Well she nursed him back to great health and then we all found each other.
He is sweeter than I could have ever imagined and already said "Hello" and "Step-Up" to my husband. Which is pretty shocking for his age.
He has even offered to bite and is soooooooooo cuddly.
I couldn't ask for more and can't thank his Guardian Angel, Cindy, enough for the time, effort and love she put into this bird. His manners are proof of her hard work.
Thank you Cindy! And hello Forum...you'll be seeing a lot more of us now and we'll get pics up soon

OH and time really flew for his rescuer because he's actually 11 weeks...not 6. (Hence him not looking like a 6 week old)
I am waiting for my DNA test Kit to arrive and then when I get the results I may possibly change his/her name to something more masculine or feminine.

Congrats on Apples. You are lucky that he was found by a great person and she kept him just for you. I am saying he because he looks like one. But I guess you will know for sure when you get the DNA back.

Congrats! I do have to ask you a question though, his swing that you made him, is it made or towels or terry cloth? It looks like wash cloth or towel material, if it is PLEASE be careful w/ him w/ that as they fray and can grab a toe or neck and cause major harm. I to have made them but we use fleece material as it is supposed to be safer! Apples is gorgeous and I am glad that you were able to give him such a wonderful home!! And as far as the name change goes, I think Apples is precious! Reminds me of the Song Apple Jack by Dolly Parton lol

It is terry and its for supervised play only...most after bath time to help him dry off.
and besides he doesn't chew it he just rubs on it.
