Although I wanted a quaker, the person I got the birds from told me that they probably wouldn't be a great starter bird. Plus, right when I saw this one I fell in love with him. :] He's a green-cheeked conure, and he's actually an it for now. The DNA sexing won't come in for a week or two, so I'll call it a he for now. He's super shy and gentle personality-wise, and I think he really really likes the quiet of his new cage, as he was in a room with lots of other REALLY loud birds before, haha. He's so amazingly sweet! I'm surprised how much I like him in such a short amount of time.
I couldn't take a good picture cause I didn't wanna scare him with the flash, so its pretty blurry. I'll add more later once he gets used to his new cage and environment in general.
So, any name suggestions? Guy and girl names are fine, cause I don't actually know which it is yet. :]

Congratulations on your new baby. GCC are so cute. I know you will be fast good friends. Names are hard, it took us 2 weeks to name Cabo the QP, for CABO WABO tequila.
Here are some of my favs

Awwwwwwwww, I adore our Green Cheek Conure! Ours is Buddy, although when we got him I had named him Tiki and my daughter saw him and pretty much stole him from me calling him her little buddy hence the name!

I like the name "Cheeky" for a GCC. They are cheeky little clowns after all.

Cheeko or Chico pronounced the same might be good for a sweet little cheeko!

Thanks guys! Awesome name suggestions too, but I gotta wait til I know what gender he is to choose.

Here's a slightly better picture.. Poor guy, I accidentally had the flash on and I freaked him out pretty bad. :\

Girl Names: Stella, Nora, Pixie, Ingrid, Georgie, Aja, Sassy, Sage
Boy Names: Pablo, Ike, Ivan, Isaac, Dill, Nigel, Quinn, Froggy, Zap
I tend to go for old lady names for girls. LOL. Things like Hazel, Ida, etc. always make me laugh for some reason.
Anyhow...congratulations on your new conure! Must be so exciting to finally get your baby!

I was going to name my girl "cleopatra" Cleo for short if it was a girl or "DaVinci" if it was a boy....
Then I decided on "Gracie" AKA Gracie Mae because she came into our house at a time when I needed God's Grace ....
and I got it!

Getting my little bird tomorrow. I am trying to decide between the two names: Kiwi or Chili. Which one do you all like better?

Kiwi is a cute name but there are SO many birds named Kiwi. I have already seen several on this forum alone. If it's truly between Kiwi or Chili then go for Chili. If it was a girl, Emerald would be cute---Em. Good luck with your new baby!

I too like Chilli as it can be unisex. I almost bought a gcc before I bought my first qp, but the gcc bit me and the qp cuddled. LOL I truly believe the bird chooses you, not the other way around.

Chili is very cute.Conure are very pretty, the pet shop where i got Toby had a very brightly colored one that had orange and yellow, beautiful.I never thought of getting one of those. I guess i preety much stick to what i know. So I got a baby qp. You are right naming is hard, especially when you don't know male or female. I guess it doesn't bother me.I'm not sure about Toby. But he went though alot of names before i stuck with this one. Good luck and have fun. Birds are a blast to have.
