Well, we all know hindsight is 20/20. I am now doctoring Odie the way I thought he should have been cared for from the beginning. Only now its gonna be harder than If I had began this way. He now has a collar on which I thought he should have had from the beginning. This way he could not have chewed stitches out and opened the wound. And I could have put meds on the sores without him getting to them . Anyway as it is now...She cleaned out all the wounds. Put a collar on him and now we are back on baytril and benebac..along with a pain med ..because now there are 2 sauves to put on him. One 2 times a day..morning and night. One at noon to promote healing. Im saying I have to use a qtip and swab it out in there and try to keep this clean. Im gonna try not to make this confusing but when I brought him home all there was for me to do was give him antibiotics twice daily and benabac every other day. If the collar had been on That MAY have been it til it healed. NOW I have ..twice daily antibiotics, every other day benebac, twice daily sauve, 1 daily med to swab on to promote healing and once daily a pain med. And a collar on. Now tell me if im wrong but i think had a collar been put in place on the first visit. then all this may have been saved. As I said..hindsight is 20/20. And My purse is 450 dollars lighter. Add in about another 170 on Bill. And I have to take Odie back in no longer than 2 weeks for her to check him. BUT, boy am I glad Ive got them.

I'm sorry about the money, but I know 100% you would spend more and you don't even care about the money if it could save one of your birds lives.

I hope his gets feeling better soon and things get better for you! How is Bill doing???

i'm glad that odie is doing so well, even if you have had this setback. i know you haven't lost sight of how far he has come since the injury, but can totally understand how frustrating this must be for you. but we can be thankful for the little things, even if the little things are actually HUGE.

give odie some kisses and scritches from us. we are pulling for him to get back to 100%

I am thankful . The vet said that he really looks good. But the sore is bad. I said to her that I realize that if it doesnt heal without infection that he could still die. Ans she said I was right. BUT, He could have died the day it happened. So I feel he will be alright. Just gonna take a while. If you just watched him you wouldnt be able to even tell anything was wrong. Til you lift his wing. So keep him in your thought. I feel God intends for him to make it or he would have taken him instantly.

Carrie~Anne, You got Katie pegged and I believe what you just said is whole hearted the truth about this lady. I love Katie and she one of a kind of person!

aww Glad to hear Odie is on the mend... its a long road but I'm positive he's going to be just fine.. after all.. he has a very attentive owner that loves him! Good job!
