My QP seems to be "going" every five minutes when I have him out! The first few times, it will have actual fecal matter in it but after that, it's just liquid. Should I be concerned at all? My cockatiel is just so much less frequent in his "emptying" that I'm surprised by QP's frequency. Am I just being an overly-concerned new mama?

Sorry your having this lil problem.. quakers on average go somewhere between every 10-20 minutes so if it is every five minutes i would look at what he's had to eat.. ie. lots of greens or fresh vegetables or if he's had a bath recently and drank lots of water or if he just simply drank a bunch of water before you had him out...
watch for other signs of illness ie. fluffed feathers, perching lower in cage, not vocalizing as much,.... hope that helps im sure others will be along shortly

How long have you had him for? In addition to what Andrea has said, it may also be nerves/stress related.

That kind of sounds like my Kiwi. After he eats his breakfast, it is sometimes watery but then it turns back to normal. I would just watch and see if it changes.

They urinate as well as defecate and birds in general go a lot more often than furry critters do. Clyde does both -- and on me -- constantly. So did my parakeet back when I had one, and we had chickens when I was growing up and seemed like they couldn't walk two feet without leaving a deposit.

If he seems all right and is eating and drinking and behaving as usual, he's probably fine.

Thanks so much, everyone! Considering that he is normal otherwise and this hasn't just popped up all of a sudden (he's been like this since I got him a few weeks back), I'm not going to stress about it. I appreciate the responses a LOT!

Is he young. My quaker is only 3 months old and when we first got her and had her out on us she seemed to go all the time. I even started calling her Pixie-poops-alot. Now she seems to go less often. I don't know if it was stress or being young. I think it was mostly age because she was always so eager to come out and spend time with us.
