I'm considering getting a local BW Pionus. I've met it many times and its a nice bird, but shy. Obviously in a store environment its going to be different than a home. For those that have had pionus or worked with them what are they like. I know every bird is different, but if it going to be like my blue quaker thats going to influence my decision. I have a blue quaker and a green cheek conure. I know its going to be completely different than the conure but what about the quaker. Also are they prone to behavioral problems.

I have a Blue Headed Pionus parrot and he is the sweetest guy i have ever had as a parrot. His name is Aegis and I rescued him from a garage sale long ago. I have Aegis for more than 14 years. Aegis and Xerxey do get along quite well together but i still watch them very closely for Inever know what Aegis or Xerxey will do to one another. I can tell you that Aegis is really quite he only squaks when something upsets him and does his normal routine of gabbering in the am and in the pm. sometimes Aegis does talk but it doesnt come out quite clearly. I know that male pis are known to talk. i cant think off hand of any behavioral problems with Aegis . guess im lucky there. ill try to post a pic of Aegis so that u can see what a Blue Headed Pi looks like. they are gorgeous. smile.gif
