I've had my QP for 3 years and I have offered him all kinds of different foods. He will not touch any of it! And if his beak touches it he spends several minutes trying to wipe it off. Any tricks on how to get him to at least try new foods? Thanks!

We have the same problem with our Barry, he wont try bell peppers, brocolli and other stuff, only the stuff that we gave him when we first got him (corn, apples and seed)
so any advice would help me also!!!

Around her it's corn and apples. I've wasted more money that I want to talk about. I keep trying though.
Try eating what ever it is in front of him. Show that you really enjoy it.
Try it, but it doesn't work for me.

When i am trying to get my birdy to try new things, i pretend like im eating it, act really excited, and then i offer it to him. it works for me

I noticed with Gonzo that like the others said, I act like Im eating it and then offer it to him and he usually trys it. Also foods that Ive offered him in the past that he did not try, once I introduced them again at another time, he likes it. Just keep offering him foods one at a time, eventually he might try it and like it.

Try holding it for him. Clyde will often at least taste if I hold it.

It is called REPEAT, REPEAT, and more of REPEAT and ALOT of food thrown away because someday they WILL eat it. You just need to be PATIENT and PERSISTANT......and also make sure you are pretending to taste and tell him how good it is. Sorry if someone already posted this.

With Sage, it's like he doesn't want to give me the satisfaction of taking it from my hand or eating it right when i give it to him. But if i put a piece of whatever it is in his "treat bowl" or on his playstand, he will eventually try it, when I'm not paying attention. Now I've learned some of what he likes, and try to squeeze in new things with these, so maybe he will "accidentally" take a bite
