"I know i haven't talked to you in a while how have you been? Anyway i was wondering i have a friend who is trying to give her bird away to a good home and i know how you love birds, and how you are a good home so i was wondering if you would take him? He is a quaker parrot but he is little. He talkes and whistles the theme song fromandy griffin he is so cute but she has to kids and not much time to spend with him. He is 17 but she says they live till they are like 70 lol so you should get a lot of years from him. He comes with a cage, toys in his cage, a big bag of food. His name is shelby by the way and he says it quite often lol So just let me know if you want him and if not maybe you know a GOOD home he can go to?"

I talked to her a bit more, but she didn't know a lot, it sounds like he was hand trained but then fell out of the habit due to lack of practice. SHe says you can put your hands in his cage without him protesting. I am a bird person myself and can home him temporarily, but I do not have the time to give him proper attention. Is there anyone out there who would like to give a good home to an older bird? I can be contacted via email at lauren@laurenjean.com

He is free to a good home, comes with a cage (although I don't know what size it is) toys and a bag of food. The girls got him from her aunt and it seems like she might not know much about birds. I was contacted because of my craziness about my own bird. I have a pacific Parrotlet named Gonzo and a Brussels Griffon (dog, looks like Chewbacca) named Zaphod, my boyfriend has a Corgi named Joey, and our roommate has a cat, who is just a run of the mill shorthair, named Bowzer.

Gonzo is a big fan of hamster balls. You put him in one and he runs around chasing the dogs. (The cat is kept strictly separate from the bird.) And we're apartment dwellers, so um.....I'm kind of full up on forever pets, but I can keep him for a week or two if needed.

Way2busy is right, that's Gonzo, my Paciffic Parrotlet, and he is WAY smaller than a QP. Good eye.

Maybe send her a PM, Kris, in case she doesn't check back soon.

Hopefully you'll be able to find him a good home near by. 17 that's pretty good...but no they don't live to be 70 years old.

I am in touch with Kris now working out a plan, just an update for the peanut gallery. I will also post pictures of him if I can get some.

Hi,
I am in Ohio I would love to adopt if you are close to me. I am home all day as I am disabled. That also means I can't pay a large rehoming fee. I live in the country. I just lost my Meyer parrot a couple of weeks ago. He was wild caught I was the third home he was in but he was the sweets Bird I have ever had. He was somewhere over 25 years old! I miss him and would love to give a forever home to another feathered friend. Before I got injured I had a small aviary in Ga. I hope someone out there has a new friend for me. Thanks Jerry
