My name is Lisa and I just brought home a new fid! His name (no I don't know and really not important) is Tobey. He is the second qp I've had. I lost my baby Sammie some years back to a respiratory infection. It's taken me a long time to find another bird that I really bonded with. I've been looking for a little while and found a petstore that had a few babies. I took the 40 min drive and walked in to a very nice place. When the lady asked me if she could help I said Quakers? and was introduced to the cutest most lovable baby ever! He immediately stepped up onto my hand and started the headbob/fluff. I cuddled him against my chest and he chirrupped at me! OMG I was smitten! So I lifted him to my face and talked softly to him. He leaned in and kissed me. Done deal! Wrap him up! But I played it cool and walked around a bit and got to know him. But I knew, and my daughter says just get him, you know you already decided! LOL!! Yeah! So, we are on day two of the honeymoon and things are going smoothly so far. He would rather sit with me than in his cage. He's already trying to figure out how to open the doors. My only concern is that he isn't eating well. Then again he's only been here two days. He's eaten a little millet and I figure he'll get to the rest in time. I'm feeding a mix of cockatiel blend and small pellets. Plus some fresh veggies and pasta. The store sent him home with quite a goodie bag of foods! I was impressed. He's a little shy of the camera so I will get a picture after he settles in some. I'm glad to be here and looking forward to many many happy years as a feathered kid mommy.
