I was suppose to take him back within 2 weeks of his last visit so we went today. I knew the vet would be pleased. I could see great healing strides in the last few days. Still a week more of sauves and oral meds but after that then just the collar. Until its healed completely. We dont want him to have any reason to pick other than preening. She said to bring him back in 3 to 4 weeks. I can take the collar off after 2 more weeks just to give him some relief and to preen. But watch him close and put it back on if he starts picking or if i have to leave. He is not to be trusted yet. But so far so good. YAY laugh.gif

I doubt that he knows how near death statistics would have determined he was. The vets are even astounded. At first they were surprised he even made it there and looking like nothing even happened unless you looked under his wing. They said most would have died instantly or enroute of shock. Made it through surgery but discussed how he prob wouldnt make it. Then twice that night she thought she was gonna lose him. And then yesterday she was parading him around saying to the rest of the staff.. this is the little bird that the dog bit. Everyone was all smiles. I told her it was due to her and the quick actions she took along with the prescribed meds and ointments she chose for me to administered. She said yes but it was also due to my diligence in the follow up home doctoring that has brought him this far. So I was really pleased yesterday. smile.gif I love that little bird. wub.gif Course he better live a long time to pay me back for all the money I have in him now. laugh.gif
