I have had this branch ready for several weeks and finally got around to attaching it to Kiwi's cage. I decided it should look a little more like an actual tree so last weekend I got some fabric and cut it in the shape of leaves. I attached the leaves to the "tree" with cable ties. Kiwi loves to chew up my shirt so I thought fabric leaves might keep him happy for a little while. Next I am going to hide some treats in the tree for him. So far he seems to love it. He has been killing the leaves for the last 30 min.

Another thing you can do is color coffee filters (carefully) with non sweetened kool aid and water. They love the fruity flavors and it gives them something they really can sink their beaks into.

Thank you all for the compliments! A day later Kiwi still loves his tree so I guess I did something right! At one point I realized I hadn't heard him in a while and I panicked and couldn't figure out where he was. He was just busy killing more leaves. I really like the coffee filter idea so I am going to try to get some of them on there tomorrow.
Sassy, it is a cottonwood branch. I have some more that I am going to try to figure out how to add to a playstand. I have some more leaf fabric left so I will probably add a few to the playstand as well.
The funny thing is I had the branch attached to the cage for a couple days before I added the leaves and Kiwi wasn't really impressed by it. As soon as I added the leaves it became his favorite place...

ohromeo, I just noticed you are in South Bend.. I grew up in Mishawaka. Small world. Maybe I can drop off a tree for you the next time I'm in town visiting...
