We had this discussion on another list I belong to and as of yet, they haven't found a successful way to fertilize a parrot egg without a male bird being present. There are methods which are used with larger birds, but I'm not sure if any one has attempted them with the smaller bird. Regardless, with these methods, the male bird would have to be within close vicinity to make sure the sperm stay viable.
