Every evening, usually around 7pm, is time to close up the cages, and put the fids to bed.
In order to coax them in on their own, I bribe them with a treat, a few unsalted sunflower seeds.

Tonight, it was a little early for bedtime, Paco was sitting on the top of his cage door.

I walked in and said, "Hi, whaddya doing?"

He looked up at me and said, "Wanna treat".

Playing along, I asked, "Oh, are you ready for nite-nite?"

He promptly answers, nodding his head up and down, "Yeah".

I responded, "Okay, well, guess I'll get some treats".

He kept nodding his head, and said, "Ok. Thanks. I love you."

Thank you. rolleyes.gif Paco is my very first quaker. Got him as a baby and handfed, and he's just turned 4 years old. Such a sweetie.

And, I never heard him talk until he was almost a whole year old. huh.gif
Figured he'd maybe'd never talk.

Now he picks up new things all the time, and, uses them in context.

What a cute story! Tonight my little guy did something in context for the first time. I was distracting him so my daughter's friend could pet him, and he BIT me on the finger. (He NEVER bites me -- it was intended for her, I think.) I said in a very stern voice, "NO!" and he leaned over and gave me a big kiss, right where he bit me. I could tell he actually felt bad about it!

Thanks. I've been lurking, checking in here and there.

With the long days of summer, it's hard to find lots of time to sit at the 'puter.
But, I miss all my friends here, and still love reading other's tales, too.

This is still the best forum on the internet!
