I just adopted a 14yr old Quaker Parrot "Kiwi" he is very funny and sweet. His previous owner could not keep him because she was working full time and running around after a 1.5yr old daughter.
I think we are going to have a great bond. He has never stepped up on anyone according to his previous owner but Kiwi is fine stepping up on me. She was so shocked. He seems to have a good personality, He loves sitting on my shoulder as much as I love having him there! I think he will make a good addition to our family and really cannot think of not having him now!

It's very nice to see someone say they can't imagine being without their QP so soon after adopting. That's one lucky little Fid!

You can't keep from adoring them, even when they decide to take some skin from your hands! tongue.gif

I know you will love it here too because this place is very addicting, just like the little green chicken it's named after!

Thanks so much for the welcome. I will work on getting some pictures on here. I already have a ton of him! He's great and is soo funny. He took a bath in his water dish this morning he looked like a little drowned rat. It was so darned cute!
He was saying his name today (he talks a lot LOL) and I would respond and say Kiwi and he'd say WANNA COME OUT! (he was in his cage-by his own want, I leave the door open but I think he was ready for bed) Little guy went down around 9ish. Last night he would NOT get off my shoulder he wanted to stay with me LOL soo cute!
yeah 14! I hear they can live as long as 30 years and hope thats true!
