Somewhere around Sept the 20th (final date yet to be decided) I will be headed for Canada by rail. A friend and I are going and the trip will cost me NOTHING. She is paying for everything. She bought a horse from a lady in Texas, had it shipped to Canada, to a friend, for training (driving)and is going up there to see if it's ready for her to drive and to ship it home. She lives in Ky, but is coming here first and we will leave from here.
I used to ride the train everywhere. I had a free pass for as long as my Dad was alive. he was a conductor on the RR for 46 years. Why didn't I go more places back then???
We were going to fly, but she never has and was scared to, and I have but hated every minute of it and didn't really want to. I would have if she had insisted, but I'm glad we are taking the "A" train!
She's every bit as crazy as I am and we always split out sides laughing. We went to Indiana in May and laughed so hard we got sick and then couldn't sleep. And you thought teens were silly!

Sounds like you wil have fun on the trip The only train trip that i took was a sleep train and that was in Germany We left Switzerland early in the evening boardded the sleep train and the next am we were there in the Northern Part of Germany town called KaltenHof. It was a unique train ride. enjoy the vacation

Thanks Jamie, I wish. That would be so nice. I'm really looking forward to this. I haven been on a train since 1989. The scenery is so pretty because you go way back behind most towns and see the country. Of course you go right through some towns too, but the countryside is gorgeous. I always loved traving that way.

Oooooo that sounds so fun! I've never actually traveled by train (unless you count the subway.) I would love it if the US could set up a railway system like Europe has - I would travel so much more!

I want to go! I haven't road the rails since the did away with box cars. LMBO. No really. It's always been a dream of mine to jump a box car though, maybe this is my year to do that. My luck I would get caught and end up in jail.

Well if you guys can squeak out the extra time to head down to the Rocky Mountains do let me know I'll take you guys to the Radium hot springs pool! It's right in the Rocky Mountains in BC, beautiful place!

Oh my Jamie...I wish. I know it must be breathtaking, but I know going very far would push us since we will be spending a lot of our time there driving miniature horses and will be traveling back and forth to 3 towns there.
Not sure how long we'll be staying but we will stretch it as long as we can, believe me.
I'll do everything in my power to see everyone I can. If I see that we might be able to swing a little extra time, I will certainly let you know and be very excited to meet you!!!!!

Andrea, We'll be going to 2 other towns as well and I'll let you know where as soon as I know. I'm hoping to meet up with Casey's Mom there too and will let you both know what I find out.

I can't stop blabbering. Am I excited or what??? I never dreamed it could be possible that I might get to take a great trip, drive the horse, meet with several of my horse group (some I have already met 3 times) and on top of that meet with some of the QP group!!!! WOW! I'm far worse than just excited!!!!
