I have a pair of Quaker Parrots who are indeed a couple. Usually the male is far more aggresive and they both protect each other and their cage from anyone, including me. Lately, they have been getting louder and louder and I think they are ready to reproduce... I am not ready to have them reproduce. In addition, the female has begun her peculiar behavior. At first I thought it was normal, they tend to poop everywhere and anywhere. But in her case, she actually presses her little body up against the front of the cage, aims and shoots. (it doesn't go far, but it is very funny actually).
Anyone ever experience something like this before? They are still cohabitating which makes it very dificult to bond with either one. Next week, one of them will get a new cage and hopefully this will make training a little easier.
In the mean time, I'll have to keep my distance...
