dry.gif so, I don't know if it's just me, or my Quaker really does aim to poop on me. Every time I come close to the cage, she presses her little body up against the front of the cage, aims and shoots.

I have a pair of Quaker Parrots who are indeed a couple. Usually the male is far more aggresive and they both protect each other and their cage from anyone, including me. Lately, they have been getting louder and louder and I think they are ready to reproduce... I am not ready to have them reproduce. In addition, the female has begun her peculiar behavior. At first I thought it was normal, they tend to poop everywhere and anywhere. But in her case, she actually presses her little body up against the front of the cage, aims and shoots. (it doesn't go far, but it is very funny actually).

Anyone ever experience something like this before? They are still cohabitating which makes it very dificult to bond with either one. Next week, one of them will get a new cage and hopefully this will make training a little easier.

In the mean time, I'll have to keep my distance...

Many birds are known to shoot poo at you or some other intruder; if they can't get at you to bite you to chase you away they'll try other things to keep you at a distance. Don't take it too personal unless it's only you that they do it to. wink.gif

Clyde poops on me constantly when he's sitting on my shoulder, though when he's on my hand or arm, I can see when he's getting ready to and usually dodge the actual bomb. laugh.gif It does sound like yours is aiming at you for some reason. Develop good reflexes! biggrin.gif
