I purchase a new betta fish and the girl in the pet shop told me he is a moon betta but he looks nothing like one as the moon betta have a semi circle kind of tail shape. I did a search on tail typps and my fish, Gilligan, looks more like a Veil Tail Betta. What do you think?

I don't know anything about the different types of betas but I can say that that is one good looking fish.

Hey Jenn, Hes a pretty one. I dont know the different breeds of beta fishes. i once worked for a fish warehouse and i cleaned and maintained all of the beta fishes. We had to keep the males separate for they would fight one another. it was quite a task at hand. Thanks for sharin the pic

What a neat looking fish... we would call him a Veil tail here.

Yeah, that looks like a veil to me. I think the person lied.
He's still pretty, though!

Jenn, that's a real beauty you have there. I love that shade of blue! Do you put a mirror up against the glass now and then and watch him puff up. I used to do that when I wanted to take a picture of mine. I didn't do it often. Didn't want him to fight himself to death
Thanks for sharing.
