I am just curious to know what your Quaker can say! Everyone post their particular parrot's favorite phrases!
Ava is just learning to squawk a bit. Her words include...
"Hello!"
"Whatcha doin?"
"Peekaboo!"
"Uh-Oh!"
"Achoooo!"
"Thank you!"
And she just said her name yesterday!
I showed her Tucker's (jenfoxpoint's Quaker) youtube video where he says "Shake your booty!" and she looked very amazed and repeated him once, but hasn't said it since...
WHAT CAN YOUR QUAKER SAY?

I'll tell ya one thing: Clyde can say a heckuva lot more than he'll admit to.

When he thinks no one can hear him, he says all kinds of things and I can't understand all of them, but it's more than he'll say when he knows I'm paying attention. What he'll say in front of us is "pepper" and "stinker" (he learned that one really fast!), "hello" and "pretty bird" and he makes sounds that are supposed to be "love you" but it's not very clear. He can say "huh?" and make kissing and clicking noises, and when he's feeling affectionate he says "awwwww." He whistles Beethoven's Fifth (just a few notes, we're working on it!) and is beginning to learn the Imperial March from Star Wars. He can mimic a cardinal and a couple of other birds whose names I don't know, but I hear them outside, and he can growl and bark -- both like a tiny little yippy dog and like our Lab's bark, which is something new that he just surprised me with the other day. He laughs like my husband, like me, and like himself, and can do the movie villain's "ha, ha, HA!" too. I'm trying to teach him "Clyde loves Mommy" and "I'm a good bird" and he hasn't even tried those yet.

Haha, Ava is just like Clyde. She mumbles a lot when she thinks no one is listening. When she's mad at my husband, she'll do this mumbly-gargle and my husband says she is cursing 'in parrot' at him!
I also forgot, Ava will 'bok bok bok' like a chicken!

I'm so jealous of all of you!
Pixie was hatched in March-ish - I got her in May.
She doesn't really say anything intelligible, but she makes a lot of garbly "talky" noises lately. Usually at bedtime.
What she does do is speak parrotlet. Sprite the p'let lives next door to her cage and he has a million birdy noises, and she has them all down pat, perfectly, except louder. She has actually taught him to cheep louder, go figure.
I guess since they spend 24 hours a day together, it doesn't surprise me that she's learned to talk like him instead of like us - I just hope she'll share a word or two with me eventually.

Aww, congratulations to Pretty Boy!
To eshoo93, some Quakers never say a word but still make excellent, loving pets. How long have you had Kiwi? It took awhile for Ava to start talking to us. Most of the phrases Ava says weren't 'taught' to her. She just started repeating things we would say around her. The key is to keep your Quaker in a very active part of the house where the family gathers, so the Quaker will feel sociable and 'part of the flock' and hear your conversations. We have to be careful at our house, as we have a nosy Quaker AND a two year old little boy, so ANYTHING we say gets repeated by one of them. And it's not always something you'd want Grandma to hear.

I'll give you the same answer I've given several other people... What jump-started Simon talking was watching Twiz videos in the video section. We had been trying to teach him things before that but without much success.. I suggested to Glenda that she play some Twizzlebeak videos for Simon and that's all it took. At first he was saying things he learned from Twiz like "look at those feathers" and "best bird in the world" but before long he was learning lots of other things..

Tobey's hatchday is May 31st so he's still young. But he's starting to make noises that sound like attempts at speech. He really pays attention when people talk to him. We've heard, and appropriately used, laughter. It's pretty hillarious! It's my understanding that quakers aren't really mimics, that they understand the words, so repetition of conversation, more than just repetition if words is what they learn from. Anyone else heard that? So based on that I talk to him about what's going on. I repeat the same phrases for getting him up and feeding and going to bed. He steps up just about every time and knows when I say come here where on his perch I want him to be so I can get him out.
The phrases I think he hears most are:
Good morning Tobey
Kisses?
Whatcha doing?
Step up
Good birdie
Come here
Sam (my yorkies name)
Kitty
Time to go back (meaning it's time to go back to the cage for whatever reason)

I actually got those record a voice gizmos, one I got has about a 30 sec spot you record message, its motion activated and has a mirror and perch (seed cup as well but its small).
I had recorded something for another bird and just added it to Elmo's cage...Elmo was not in the office with me as he is now, so wasn't get a ton of people contact during the day. I was walking past the room and heard what I had recorded but not in my voice, lol. Now Elms in the office with me and I have 2 of those gizmo's on either side of the cage, with something different on it. I have one with Ready, Ok, Row row row your boat (etc) ending with Good job, Good job elmo. The other now has E...L..M...O ELMO recorded a few times. Drives me nuts during the day but beats speaking it till your'e blue in the face.
Good luck, be patient. All 3 of my birds speak (Kiwi says step up and Kiwi, Oatie says Oatie,Oatie,Oatie, pretty bird and whatcha doin)

Erm, not sure really, just repeating what we wanted Bijou to learn, but in a happy voice, when my friend taught him to say Michael Schumacher, she looked after him for a weekend and told me he has said it, but I thought she was just having me on, and it was another 7 months before he said it here with me and it came out of the blue, so don't ever give up

14-Wheres the birdie?
15-Arrrrrr.
16-Love you.
17-Here we go.
18-See him.
19-Hello.
Then the sounds he mimics are,
1-A police siren.
2-A lawnmower.
3-Chirping birds.
4-Kisses.
5-Drinking.
He whistles to,
1-Little house on the praire song.
2-M*A*S*H song.
3-The music on the Weather Channel.

She's a sweet heart. My sister and brother love her and really want her to talk, so I'll keep her around all the people.

Herbie also says a lot of what other people are posting, but having three dogs, he's picked up on some funny stuff...
outside go peepees
on your couch
in the kitchen
sit down
These are all to the dogs, he'll especially say sit down when they start barking.
He also says
My little birdie
new water (when I am taking his water out to replace)
hey baby
please, or pretty please (when he sees us with food, Chris (my hubby) taught him that, now he says it all the time when we have food)
All gone (when we scrape plates or bowls, or when we eat in the kitchen and he is finished with the goodies we give him)
I love listening to him talk, he is too cute!
On another quick note, I gave him a clear drinking straw, and he is constantly weaving it through his bars, taking it down and repositioning it. He won't touch the colored bendy straws, he just loves his clear one. It keeps him very busy putting it just right. then moving it...

Sage said his first words about a month ago, Good boy. I was soo excited because I was taking him to my parent's house soon and hoped he'd impress them. Of course he didn't utter a word, dance, or give kisses while we were there. But now, he is talking a lot! Some days are crystal clear and others he just mumbles. I've been trying to get a good video, but no luck yet. He says: Good boy, What a good boy, Take a bath?, thank you!, makes a "big kiss" noise, What are you doing? (which I was impressed, cause he actually says each word, not whatcha doin'? like I'd expect), he said Peekaboo and com'ere once. Today while I was cleaning his cage and rearranging toys he kept saying "what are you doing?" and "Good boy" like, hey what are you doing? I'm being good! You don't need to screw up my home!
