its been long long long, infact over a year.. way tooooooo toooo long, but defintintly wanted to give you all a huge hug and a big hello... wow, the forum looks great.. and funny heheh LOL, I was trying to even find the posting button, and it took me 2 minutes to long LOL, but.... wowzer, where to start,
Harley my quaker was my very first bird 2 years ago, and since then my home grew, Kiwi the caique (passed away suddenly during the fall,I dont know why but he was crazy, busy, hard playing loveeeeee)
Kaiba my cockatiel, super outgoing and sooooo sweet in love with Gucci my eclectus ( super cool bird), and of course my Harley... the pain in the booty, but, oh sooo different in his/her own way, and couldn't imagine life without.....lets just say he for reference... he is sooo funny, he is a loner and doesnt like to go near the other birds for too long.. just mui.. cant stand the rest of the family all males.. loves women when they come to the house, he will go and fly to any female, but men.. oh my look out, get close to him, and he begins his grumbling and growling... never has he hurt anyone I say badly cause he's tried a few times... ...one time sitting with my 10 year old, he leaped to attack him,(super possesive of anyone near me)didn't hurt him, but did make contact on his ear.. and I took him, put him in his cage and covered it up, didnt say a word to him, let him out later, and now when he is out which equal amount of time in and out of cage, my kids have learned and know not to get to close to me when he is with me, or I love him with my hands, and then he doesnt seem to mind whose next to me,as long as he thinks my attention is on him, when they get close to him, he starts that grumbling like hes telling them off...
my dh at night if I am out of town, cant get him and put him back in his cage, just wont have a darn thing to do with him and Harley was his gift, but I took him over Naturally How could one not, he was the first bird ever that I brought into our home, and heheheh LOL, for once I am loved unconditional over anyone and anything by my Harley ehheh LOL, all the dogs seem to favor my dh over me.. heck it was time I had something on my side LOL...
Harley is quite hysterical, hes possesed with me, and most of the day beside me or on me.. I have to put him in his cage more then the others because he's just so velcro.. quiet too.. infact loving as anything with me, loves his rubs, and purrs forever.. ya'll know that sound I am speaking of... He is a spoiled bird and really when around all the boss, he is the only one that follows me everywhere.. if I go to the kitchen he flies and hangs out above the kitchen window, if I go upstairs for anything, here he comes, if not at home, and he was let out, you'll find him in my bed when I get home, soooooo cute, then wammo back to his cage.. times when I am all dressed, my dh goes to let him out of his cage, and I am like no no no no......... he will just want to be on me, and I cant have the top pooed on.. LOL, the other day taking a shower, he jumped in it with me, usually he sits on the window sill or the top of the curtain rod, but this time whammo right in there with me.. he watches my every move, and is probably out of all my birds most into me by far..... I think he is a cockatoo LOL... talked the first year, but then just stopped one day, every now and then he'll say waz up, or whatch ya doing?, peek aboo...but, thats all.. and reverted to pure.... wwwerr,eerre,weeer,errr, real fast sounding like a gumbling angry old man speaking under his breath, I can only assume this occured when I got Gucci my electus who says everything under the sun...
at this moment, I am on my new laptop... this is what he did to my other one..okay cant figure out how to add photo. ugh, anyhoo.. tore it to shreds, had to litteraly hook up a keyboard to my laptop for over a year LOL, so now he flies onto the edge and I use to let him sit ontop while on my puter, but no more, hes learning, poor guy, everytime he lands on it, step up and fly him off it, tonight.. I think hes learning, yippy, hes ontop of the playstand with all the birds and has been there now for an hour.. Yippy!!! I love looking over and watching them all preen away....
sooooooo all, hows everyone else doing??and missed ya, and had to update ya'll... anyone want my advise on being owned by a quaker give me a shout out.. cause he defintely owns me!!
and what an acrobat you do have there.....sure wish we had some pictures or videos of his workouts....
