Casey's Mom
Yep, Casey loves strawberries! biggrin.gif She actually just picks the seeds off the outside of the strawberry and shreds the rest to pieces! biggrin.gif ... but yes they are safe to feed. smile.gif

I've been wondering about tomatoes. We will be having a garden full in about a week. I rescued Buddy (Elton) about 3 weeks ago, he only had Pretty Bird pellets to eat and never had a bath. When I went to pick up Buddy, I asked his owner, "What kind of bath does he like?" She told me he had never had a bath or even a spray. I rescued him at the age of around 7 monthes. When I went to pick him up, I made it clear to the other owner I wanted to see if he would make up to me before I put him thru the stress of a new home and mom. She told me, she couldn't handle the feathers and the mess that he made. He also likes to dunk his pellets. When I got there, he was in a filthy cage and his water so dirty that it looked solid. I told them I didn't need the cage. The truth was, I wouldn't clean it up for it. He is a big time "food dunker". I change his water at least 3 times a day. Tubby is also a dunker and I have to change his 2 times a day. When I laid eyes on Buddy, my heart almost stopped. I knew I would be bringing him home with me, if he was the meanest, ugulyest QP in the world. The first time I sprayed him, he ran towards the water, like he was a sponge and just wanting to soak in all the water he could. I would put a bowl of water on his play top every day. Sunday afternoon he took his first bath. Well, half a bath. He held his little foot up and would watch the water drip off it. Today is Tuesday and he gets a little wetter. He is trying different foods. He has three food dishes. His different foods or treats are in the dish that is on the top of his cage. When I intoduce him to a new food, he will take a try, maybe two, and then he goes for my hand. I then put it in the bowl on top of his cage. He now knows that this bowl is for something new. I'm having trouble with him to trust my hands. When I sit near his cage he always comes as close to me as he can. He just doesn't like hands. Everyday there is a dipper trust amd love. I'm so thankful that he is here and I'm able to give him a home full of love and good food.
