I didn't move fast enough to get him actually taking a bath, but I got wet parrot pictures afterward. This is the first time he's taken a bath without being outside in his cage. He was inspired by Daddy taking a bath in the next room. Noisily taking a bath. Third pic is Clyde with his sunglasses, which he has finally decided he likes and in fact, they've become his favorite toy.

how cute!
boogie insisted upon taking a bath in the kitchen sink earlier when i was doing dishes
apparently, she now requires the water to be on in order to rub-a-dub properly

does your guy pop the lenses out of those glasses?

mine are obsessed with my sunglasses - when we go get josh in the afternoon i wear them and i eventually just end up taking them off because of the obsessive fixation they have

today wasabi grabbed the top where they pop the right lens out and when i pulled my face away he didnt let go
the next thing i know, hes hanging from there by his beak with his claws holding on to the bottom part of the frame cool.gif

Nope, he just carries them around and gnaws on them. tongue.gif He is obsessed, though. I can't wear my eyeglasses at all or he takes them, and when I'm wearing my contacts and try to wear reading glasses, he takes those, too. I'm learning to crochet by touch because Clyde won't let me wear reading glasses anymore! rolleyes.gif At least he will let me crochet. Sometimes. When he's tired of it, he lets me know and like a good girl, I obey.

Harley loves my glasses too, in fact he will pull them off my face to get to my eyes so he can preen them...He has been doing this for about 4 years now, so I trust him....and he will play with my glasses if I let him.....

Poor litttle Clyde looks like his feelings is hurt.... tongue.gif What a sweetheart....thanks for the wet birdie pictures...I enjoyed...

He didn't appreciate having his picture taken while he was all wet and unkempt. laugh.gif He had plenty to say to Mommy for doing it, too. "SQUAWK!" = "You KNOW I haven't done my hair yet!"

I do NOT trust Clyde to preen eyes. Not even a little bit. Not that he doesn't occasionally try, but I always squinch them shut and say "Not the eyes!" and he'll back off and make disapproving clucking noises. Clearly he thinks they need attention BADLY and I'm just being stubborn. rolleyes.gif He can do my hair, my eyebrows and even my ears, but not the eyes. laugh.gif

I love wet birdies- my gcc, Squirt, is the funniest bather ever- he's usually on my shoulder when I take his "swimming pool" over to be cleaned and refilled and as soon as I turn the water on he's hopping down my arm to jump in. and he doesn't just step into a bath, he DIVES in head first and swims back and forth, ducking and fluttering and shaking himself the whole time. He probably takes 3 or 4 baths a day just cuz it's so much fun.
Boo the quaker is more sensible about it. A bath is a more solemn occassion so he steps slowly and carefully in after checking the water with his toes, then slowly fluffs and ducks his body in.
I think birdie bathing is my very favorite activity of all!

I love to watch it and get to very, very seldom because Clyde is more like Boo. He'll stand at the edge of his bathtub and dip just a toe in and then pull it back like he just touched something very icky. Then he'll think about it and sometimes even climb back on his perch and fluff up and look mad for a while. Then we repeat the whole process, sometimes two or three times before he'll finally gingerly step in and sort of wriggle himself as he gets down low enough to get his tummy wet. Once he actually STARTS, he flaps his wings and splatters water everywhere and dives his head under and everything else, but my goodness, what a production he makes of getting in! laugh.gif I always tell him, "Clyde, it's just WATER, for pete's sake."
