They are up in my cotton wood tree, but I can't get them to come down low enough to get a good pic of them. Hopefully I'll have photos of them soon. They look so dang cool!

Baby Squrriels are so cute! wub.gif We have huge trees on our yard and have baby squrriels each spring, after watching so many litters (is it litters in the squrriel world? lol) they definitely have rules to what they can and cannot do... they start out just running around IN the tree, then after they are allowed to the base of the tree but not on the ground and then they are allowed to run around on the yard and then later they are allowed to explore further. I always found it funny that the Mommy and Daddy Squrriels have such strict rules but it does seem like it's like that with each set of babies each year! So maybe your babies are just in the 'stay in the tree' stage! biggrin.gif

Looking forward to some cute picture! wink.gif

I do hope that you manage to get some photos, as we don't have them here, and they sound so adorable. wub.gif

omg i rescued a tiny squirrel from a dog once and i kept it as a pet - no cage just a nest box
it was the coolest pet EVAR

i have thought about adopting one from a breeder...they really make awesome pets

I've thought about getting one as a pet before. My friends grandparents had some. They are pretty cool, but I've out grown my rodent phase, and have been stuck in the scales and feathers department for a while now, but i definitely am on the photographic hunt. I've got the camera right by the door, but they stay atleast 30 feet up in some heavy shade so it's hard to get a good pic, but patience will render satisfaction.

heres a photo of my squirrel playing at the park with me
he would run all over the place then bark at me when he was ready to come down
i would come to the bottom of the tree and bloop
he'd jump onto my shoulder (or head sometimes)
i miss Earl.
Earl the Skwerl.
i had a song for him and everything
LOL

Earl, Earl, Earl
Earl the skwerl swerl skwerl
He's a boy boy boy
not a girl girl girl

and that would go on and on and on
LOL

here he is when I first found him
I had to bottle feed him ALL the time. he was a pig
he looks like a tiny werewolf

wub.gif Those are some of the cutest pictures yet, I can't believe how small he is, what happened to Earl? did you release him?
geekasaurus
i had him for about 4 years and he died
he wasnt sick or anything so i think it was just time for him to go, he went in his sleep
sad.gif

i still miss him and his incessant barking at me all the time
he would curse me out
so funny

Those pictures of the squirrel are just precious! Since we moved, I haven't seen any here sad.gif

we have a lot of them here but they are a LOT smaller than those in texas
like 1/2 the size or maybe even smaller than that

OMG he is adorable ... wub.gif

Chrissy- Hats off to you for being able to bottle-feed one that tee-tiny! I'd imagine it's a bit like handfeeding a day-one baby bird. I can tell he's one of those humungous western squirrels. When I lived in CO for a couple of years I couldn't believe how huge they were there. Here in NC we have MUCH smaller gray squirrels.
Earl's a cutie.
geekasaurus
yes it was one of the hardest things ive ever done lol
i mean when josh was tiny, middle of the night feedings werent that bad...i could doze off and he wouldnt aspirate all of the formula
but with earl, wow
i had to pull the nipple out every two sucks or he would get too much in him and it would come out of his nose
i wouldnt have traded it for anything though. once he started climbing and hopping around...he was so funny

he was so weird looking, all nekked with black claws
when i found him i was like WTF is THIS?
i had to look up some photos to make sure he was a squirrel
very bizarre

makes me wanna kidnap one, but I fear retalliation from the others! My yard is practically a wild animal haven. There's a horny toad in my shed, an army of squirrels, blue jays, mocking birds, cardinals, woodpeckers, doves, garter snakes, owls, a bat, green anoles, fence lizards, geckos, and toads. I don't even know why I need pets since my yard has a huge variety. I've thought about trying to introduce some button quail to my habitat, but we do get hawks around here so it would be really risky.
