Hey everyone,

I just wanted to ask is this normal? I think my cat Tyrone has a bag fettish that he has recently developed and I don't know why. He is one and a half years old and isn't desexed, he is an indoor cat only and is a total mumma's boy as well. Lately (these past two weeks) he has been sleeping on my hand bag, and has been licking the leather strap whenever he gets the chance.

Also you know the shopping bags you get? the material ones to help reduce plastic waste? well he loves chewing and licking that like anything. All I can say is with the other bag at least he has some taste haha but I wonder why he is doing this all of a sudden, nothings changed in my routine, I'm not bringing anything "new" home.

Cats really want us to think they're independent and self-reliant and so forth, but the truth is, they secretly adore us. laugh.gif Your scent is probably all over your handbag and that's why Tyrone likes it so much. My mom had a cat whose favorite place to sleep was with her face stuffed into Mom's one shoe and her body draped over the other shoe. I had a cat who took my clothes out of the dirty laundry basket and carried them off to curl up in them like they were security blankies. I was forever finding socks and t-shirts and such in strange places covered with yellow cat hair. Cats also like tiny places where they can hide, which could explain the shopping bag.

Thats really interesting and I never really thought of it like that
my friends cat likes shoes, as soon as you take off your shoe she will nip and lick
at it.
