EXCEPT FOR THAT NOISEY QUAKER SITTING NEXT TO ME! That's right ladies and gents duke has made his grand return! He is now in his cage and very hesitent to come out. When I went and saw him last night I wasn't 100% sure it was him. He was dirty and scared. He whistled at me after I had been there a couple minutes, and started doing his keet chirps. So I brought him home, and let him fly a few laps around the house. When he was all set I told him to go in his cage. So he flew down and got on his favorite perch for about 2 minutes, until he noticed his bowl full of his favorite pellets. Duke is still shaken up a bit, but I'm chatting with him and letting him listen to his pink floyd. So he's a happy bird again! Sandi you are so rightish. I was sitting around the netless house thinking those poor suckers don't know what's happening... Right now I'm still waiting for them to fix my line, but as soon as they do you guys can all yell at me for not going to the library last night to post this LOL.
Thanks so much everyone for the support! It was the fire under my feet that helped bring duke home!

Welcome home Duke!!! And big hugs to you Oz! I was getting so worried that it wasn't him!!! What a wonderful ending to what could have been a tragedy. This is the kind of thing to give hope to others that have lost their babies. It may take a little bit for him to settle back in, what a scare he has had. Will be watching for the fireworks.....let's see....I think you are about an hour behind me, maybe two....I have to figure out when to look for them!!!!

Hurray!!!!
Hi Am0z,
Wow.. seriously you had us worried there lol. I was almost afraid to check the forum today. Didn't know how to comfort you if it hadn't been Sir Duke. I'm so very happy for you, and Sir Duke that he's home safe and sound
Now then.. Duke.. no more sneaking out to play! Silly fid, you had your family and friends worried sick about you... tsk tsk tsk.
If you must go outside to play, at least leave a number where you can be reached, and what time you'll be home

Talk about rotten timing though with the phone and internet going out <ack>. Hopefully you had them to get the call about Duke first thing that morning. I can only imagine how frustrating it would have been to lose phone and net, especially while waiting for "that" call.

Yeah it was horrific timing. Luckily that night I left my mom's cell phone number (I hate phones so I don't own a cell) with the home phone. I was 100% sold on not leaving her cell number but them mom just mentioned it while i was writing my reply to them so I threw it in.

Yeah geek used to live down here. I wish she would move back, because I want to play in her bird room. I'm being talked into driving to vegas next year instead of flying so maybe I can kidnap geek on my way out there, and make her watch me waste that bird support money!
Thanks guys so much for the kind words. I just finished up the conure cage, and am about to go pick it up. I've got the birdroom setup up for the little one plus moved most of my work to my mini office in there to keep him company while he spends his time in jail. I'm going to check up on my aunt's rent house by where I'm picking up the conure, so I will have enough money to pay for both of the fids to go get check ups today. I already have the money for a wellness check but I'm having extra work done for duke to make sure he's A-OK.
In other news. I also saw a green cheek at petco today while I was picking up the last things for the cage, and they had him behind plexiglass, but we still played for about half an hour. What an extremely overpriced angel! Ok well I'm off to get the conure then checkk on th erent house, then off to the vet, and back! I'll have the work laptop with me so I'll be able to piddle around on the internet while I'm out! Also I'm picking up another cage tonight since I need to have an outdoor cage too. Oh lord so busy!

good to hear! Are you gonna take him to the vet for a checkup?
