A fun, humorous survey about your birds! Have fun and please have a laugh at my humor. But try to be honest. My gals keep throwing poop fests and I want to know if yours do too!

Yes I have loud unruly birds and more poop than I thought possible. But i wouldn't have it any other way.

laugh.gif laugh.gif The poop in my house is manageable ~ the thrown food however is a daily or every other day vacuum job. I'm fortunate to have wood floors so the poop doesn't bother me too much and I do have "poop catchers" on 2 of the cages. The other cage I just leave the bottom tray open far enough to catch the poop from the sun conure.
It works out pretty well for me. The only thing I don't like is my living room has turned into the "bird" room because of 3 big cages. I so wish I had a room strictly for the birds with a laundry tub in it to clean the cages and such .... *sigh*

I agree-- the poop is manageable.. the thrown food is not!! Give Lily strawberries and it is amazing where they end up....however, my dogs love my birds just a little more because of their food messes.

Luv the poll.
Its fun.

Its the dog fur "tumbleweeds rolling around the house in the breeze" that annoy me more !!!!

Thanks for the fun! My response is someplace between the first two - I can't say there isn't any mess, but it is very easy to clean due to tile floors and a great cage. Amigo is about 7 months old, and he's still learning. For the first couple of months his water dishes were spotless clean all the time. I keep water and food on opposite sides of the cage, but now there is food at the bottom of the water containers every day. Most of his poop stays in or on the cage, until he's out. And my dog absolutely loves popcorn nutriberries! I really think its funny because when I gave him a millet spray at first, it would take him a week to eat it. Now, it's demolished in a few hours.

Clyde's an awful slob about his cage, but most of his mess stays in his cage. I have to change his paper every day and clean his water and food dishes about twice a day, and give his cage a good scrubbing every other day or every third day. Bonnie's much neater. She spills seed hulls outside her cage, but they stay in a neat little pile near her food dish, and I only have to change her paper every second or third day.

Still, I have these two slobbering pooches who string hair from one end of the house to the other and splatter their water all over the dining room and occasionally forget their house training and so forth, so the birds' messes are miniscule in comparison to THAT. laugh.gif

Hahaha! My gals have been pretty sloppy lately, I have a birdy bloomer on round the cage whichi s supposed to keep the mess inside, but somehow I always manage to find poop on the outside of the bloomer. It is like they want me to see it becuase they know I don't like that LOL.

honestly, Darwin isn't loud, doesn't make a lot of mess with food or poop, but I vaccum and clean everyday. I also put a towel down on anything I don't want pooped on, so the when the towel is moved there is no mess! He doesn't bite (me that is), he hardly calls loudly, he talks all the time and wants to cuddle and preen. He is an absolute joy to have!

Bird poop-though I said I was drowning in it- is mostly done inside the cage thank god because when an African grey, holds it for a little while, as you play with them - when they let it go, you really should just change the papers right then and there. LOLWhat I am drowning in is his freaking seed/treat/pellet/paper/foot toys/ every toy all over the place. I have a Shark (Vacuum thing) and it is going to blow up if this continues at this pace. I clean my floors 7-10 times a day at least. My son says more like 100. He says the vacuum doesn't stop. LOL

With 15 flighted birds there is poop everywhere. I love those unscented diaper wipes and as long as I keep up with it they clean the poop right up. If I miss a day forget it!!!!
Some birds chew paper and throw it around, then the dogs drag things around. The food???? Everywhere!!! My favorite part is when you can feeli it on the bottom of your feet and drag it around the house. I keep meaning to get a rug to put at the entrance to the bird room LOL

I am drowning in poop!!!!!!
Sebastion hangs in the corner of his cage and lets fly...and boy oh boy can he make his poo fly!!
The bits of wood all over are a bit of a pain as well. They can make toothpicks out of a 2x4 in a short time..
