Last Sunday was my 26 birthday, but I might as well call it my Bird-day, because all the presents I got were bird related, haha. I got a few parrot training/health books from my parents, but my husband really outdid himself. We love our Quaker Ava, and we've been talking about getting an Amazon or a Congo Grey next summer. So my husband arranged for us to visit a woman who raises several kinds of Amazons and Congo Greys...I got to see the different birds and got to cuddle with a sweet red-lored Amazon and 'talk' with a yellow nape. It was really a great afternoon.
Then, my husband announced the plans for my next gift, which is a large outdoor aviary for Ava and the possible new bird. She's going to get a huge cage so she can be outside with us when the weather is warm. He started all the frame work today and I can't believe how big it is!
Ok, my last gift is my favorite...I'm a personal chef, so my husband combined my love of Quakers with my love of cooking and designed this great apron.
I feel like such a lucky person!
