Full Version: Taking Food Right Out Of My Mouth

Hubby was eating cheese night before last and cutting off bits for the dogs and I had Clyde on my hand. Hubby gave me a bit of cheese and I started to put it in my mouth and Clyde snatched a bite before I could even get it all the way to my mouth. I know fids aren't supposed to have dairy, but it was too late, and he has had the occasional bit of cheese without a problem. So, since Clyde took my cheese, Hubby gave me another piece, and Clyde snatched a bite again, even though I tried to hold him out of reach. Stinker. He could at least wait to be ASKED. laugh.gif
Sandi Kiwis Mom
Thats funny because Kiwi will almost do the same things when it comes to food. If he is on my finger.........he will stretch to the limits to get what I have and yes they are fast!

A little bit of cheese isn't going to hurt him. My guys LOVE cheese. They get it as a treat every so often but not on a regular basis.

Please remember, not to allow anything that has been in your mouth or inside your lips or that has even touched your teeth to be eaten by your birds. We have gram negative bacteria in our mouths and it can be deadly to a bird.

yes I agree with Andie's mom, the bacteria in our mouths can kill our little guys! Darwin gives me kisses on the mouth everyday but I am careful to keep my lips closed tight so he doesn't get any saliva in his mouth. Usually he just "kisses" my lower lip on the outside, but I still don't want him to get sick or die from it!

On a happier note, cheese is a yummy treat every so often!
