We went out to a Halloween party tonight and turned off lights but didn't cover the birdies up because we left long before their bedtime. I figured they'd go to sleep anyway, with the lights off and the house quiet.

I got home just now and Clyde was nowhere to be seen. I knew he was in his cage when I left and even that ingenious little stinker can't get out of it, and then I noticed tail feathers sticking out of his Happy Hut. I tippy-toed over there and peeked and sure enough, there he was, all snuggled inside ... and wide awake. rolleyes.gif He poked his nose out of one end to say good night and I put his cover on and tippy-toed away again. He's had a Happy Hut for months and would only bat it around and attack it from the outside. Maybe leaving his cover off left him no choice but to go in so he could have total darkness to sleep. Or maybe he just decided it isn't an evil monster after all. He sure looked cozy and comfy in there. wub.gif

Coby has been sleeping in his hut all week. They look so cute in there don't they?

donut
I doesnt matter how or why, just good that it has happened.

I do agree with Cantab, where are the pics ????

Donut has started to play "peek a boo" with me in his hut.
I am waiting for Wayne to be home at the right time to take the video.
Soon, very soon.

I did think about taking a pic, but it was almost midnight and long past time for birdies to be in bed. If I'd shot off a flash in his face, he'd have gotten out of the hut and demanded a shoulder. laugh.gif

bwahahahahhha ok so I'm tired, but the first thing I thought of when you said "shot off a flash in his face" was Hogan's Heroes (dating myself here hehee).

I can picture the poor guying blubbering away confessing to all his misdeeds, due to the fierce interrogation technique using the bright lights in his face laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

ahem.. ok.. I'll stop now <blush>.. you get the picture though right?? right?? right??? <looking around hoping for some confirmation that I'm not the only crazy>

You're not. After I'd written that, I thought, flashes don't really "shoot" anymore, do they? LOL I was imagining myself with one of those cameras the 1950s-era newspapermen had that went BOOM when they took a picture. Of course, my digital doesn't DO that. rolleyes.gif

It took some doing because as soon as Clyde knows we're nearby he pops out of his tent and wants to play, but tonight he put himself to bed early and let me take a picture of him peeking out of his tent (chuckling all the while, it was so cute). So here he is. In the second picture you can see his beak is open because he was laughing.

Awwwww...that is the cutest thing ever! I haven't put Simon's back in yet, since he never would use it before, but am going to this weekend after I give his cage a cleaning. He now sleeps on a wire rack that is covered with some material, but he ends up with his tail smashed against the cage bars so his tail is all spread out looking!

Clyde loves his happy hut - bless his little cotton sox laugh.gif
