We went out to a Halloween party tonight and turned off lights but didn't cover the birdies up because we left long before their bedtime. I figured they'd go to sleep anyway, with the lights off and the house quiet.
I got home just now and Clyde was nowhere to be seen. I knew he was in his cage when I left and even that ingenious little stinker can't get out of it, and then I noticed tail feathers sticking out of his Happy Hut. I tippy-toed over there and peeked and sure enough, there he was, all snuggled inside ... and wide awake.

He poked his nose out of one end to say good night and I put his cover on and tippy-toed away again. He's had a Happy Hut for months and would only bat it around and attack it from the outside. Maybe leaving his cover off left him no choice but to go in so he could have total darkness to sleep. Or maybe he just decided it isn't an evil monster after all. He sure looked cozy and comfy in there.
