Good afternoon! My name is Suzanne and I am a retired grandma living in southern Utah. Many, many years ago I was the mama of a special Amazon parrot that I gave to a good home when I needed to go back to work. It was a difficult decision to make but it truly worked out for the best. Now I'm retired from working and my mind, once again, is turning to feathers laugh.gif After spending days visiting this site and other resources, a decision has been reached, hooray!!! I'm going to get a Quaker. There doesn't appear to be any hand-fed babies around right now so I'm impatiently waiting for hens to start their laying! In the meantime, I'll be visiting here, groaning with envy and learn, learn, learn.

Welcome! to the Forum!

Too bad that it is so late in the season, and most breeders are tearing down their nests for the winter. Keep your eyes on the newspaper, though, as lots of new bird owners often end up deciding that they don't have time for their pet, and want to sell it a few months later. Even a section here is set aside for just this purpose.

Good luck with your search. Quakers are just the most amazing little birds!
