Ringo's Mom
We are finally totally done remodeling the kitchen!! It took Tom and I almost 2 months with no help from anyone and I am so proud of us! The funnest part was smashing out the old cabinets with a sledgehammer, and I even learned how to use some power tools! biggrin.gif
The only thing we need now are a new stove and refrigerator. I think I am going to wait until spring to get those, then I can save a little more money and get the ones that I want.
Anyway, here are a bunch of before and after pictures. (these are minus the backsplash tile and the cabinet handles)

Wooser---that is certainly a beautiful job you and hubby did, and i especially like the contrasting colors in there.....you kinda remind me of the people on the DIY Channel on TV....Now you can enjoy that pretty kitchen for a long time to come....My hat is surely off to you two.... smile.gif and by the way, you two should go into business together......(that is if you get along together working side by side.... tongue.gif ) laugh.gif Anyway, good job...

Thanks!! This is the biggest thing I have ever accomplished EVER! It is not something I will ever do again though...lol We couldn't afford to spend extra money eating out every night, so for 2 months we cooked dinner on the grill. Got pretty tired of that. And by the end we were both on each others nerves something terrible! Thank goodness I have a TINY kitchen so things got done pretty quickly, I don't think I could handle it much longer! But it was all well worth it in the end. biggrin.gif

I was amazed at how well Ringo did through the whole thing. I thought we would have to move him to my dad's for a couple months, and my dad got disappointed that we didn't have to. lol We did have to move him into the guest bedroom for a week during the tear out because there was so much dust flying. We taped off the vents in that room and kept towels stuck under the door to keep the dust out. Ringo did quite a bit of talking when the power saw was going, and when we were knocking out walls and bulkheads. Anything we did that was loud made him talk like crazy! I tried bringing him into the kitchen for a bath the other day and he freaked out. DID NOT want his feet to touch the counter! I don't know if it's the black counter that scares him, or just the change in the room. Yesterday he sat on the back of the kitchen chair, but that was the only place he would let me put him down. I will keep trying, eventually he will get used to it.

Wonderful kitchen! I work for a kitchen company so I am a total nerd about stuff like that. You guys did an AWESOME job. You should be very proud... usually people pay us a very large amount of money to get a kitchen that looks like that smile.gif
