awww i am sorry you did not find her i was really hopeing you would but dont give up

i really like the flight suits over the feather tether http://www.flightquarters.com/bird-diapers...mvc?Screen=SFNT

a lady brought her bird into the store where i work and it was a nightmare to get it on plus the flight suits have a little poo cather lol

i beleive wuakers need the medium with those but if you want the feather tether a green qp wears a small

here is a site for sizing the feather tethers http://www.naturechest.com/feattetbirha.html

okay, I'm new to this and I think the bird suits are a fantastic idea, but how in the heck DO you get those on your birds? I can't even imagine me trying to put that on Rico. I don't know that I could be soft enough with my hands. I'd be afraid that I'd break one of his wings or something!

here are the insrtuctions http://www.flightquarters.com/how_to.htm

it seems like you put their little legs in and then you just pull the straps up onto their wings

I thought about a flight suit for Zazu but they are a pain to put on and I worried about him getting hot while wearing it. Tammy, who owns the aviary I got him from, recommended a harness over the flight suit.

I use the Aviator Harness on him. It takes me a few seconds to put on him and he tends to ignore it once it is on him. We actually have 2 for him, one red, one black (because I lost the red one for a bit). I take him outside in it all the time and I like the peace of mind knowing he is not going to fly off if he is startled. He was introduced to it while he was being weaned but even if he had not, it is not that hard to put on.

We just ordered Savannah a blue harness. Once it gets in, she will get introduced to wearing it as well.

I agree with Denise, I highly recommend the Aviator Harness over the teathers or suits. smile.gif CaptainQuark has written some great articles over at AnAG that are quite helpful as the techniques/ideas apply to all species. smile.gif

Good luck!

thank you so so very very much for this link. I have been looking for flight suits locally but they don't sell much and most stores are starting to NOT sell any parrot stuff at all. It's even getting harder and harder to get a parrot her in WV. I will buy a flight suit as soon as I have the money again. (I poured all mine, half my sons and most of Misters money into my room.) Wouldn't it be cool if I could find a sailor suit one-for Popeye of course.

I love these videos by Froggi!

Also, you can order the flight suit from the website.

They ask lots of questions on the order form to get the sizing right. SweetPea wears a medium. And actually I prefer to cut up pantiliners to put in the flight suit rather than the little circular pads that they sell for them. It just looks more comfortable without the bulk.
SweetPea has a "wardrobe" of FIVE different flight suits. My personal favorite is the "Ocean Spray" print.
Good luck!

What size do you get for a quaker. I go for walks a lot, and it would be nice to take Chili with. I found them at this website:

I am trying to remember which size Zazu has....I am fairly sure we got him the extra-small. I know it only came in black and red since I had initially wanted green for him.
