So this morning when I woke up. I had to go on a latte binge. I'm just so dang tired, and I need to get work done. When I am drinking coffee the birds can't come to the desk, and I thought I would fix the problem by giving them all a hand full of baby carrots to eat and play with, well it's not working too well. Right now I'm trying to get my hands on some used candle containers so I can make test candles. I'll put the test candles up on my site, and a few lucky people will get to buy some of the candles. I'll sell them for about the price of shipping. I plan to accomplish a few things with this test. First off I'm going to see how well they ship. Secondly I need to find out if they burn well, and finally I'm going to use it to test google check out. So if you're anxious to finally get to burn a candle in your house again, then be patient, because your time is coming! Anyways I need to get a hold of one of my distributors today, and get everything squared away with them before I can start working on the candles.

This brings me to a question. Are all candles bad for birds? I know that the scented oil candles are, but I have a house guest at the moment, and I came home today and found that she had lit all the candles in the house, which I previously had packed away. Needless to say (and especially since Simon is already ill) I freaked right out...ran around blowing them all out, then took Pogo outside and opened all the doors. I'd forgotten how nice a house smells with candles burning, but I'm sure not going to risk my bird getting sick. Who knows about birds and candles and are there any safe? When I googled it, most of what I read was about the Glade scented oil candles.

all candles are bad for birds. The only exception is soybean wax, and beeswax, and they have to have a pure cotton wick. As I have found through my research, not all soy candles are 100% soy, Some will say 100% pure soy, and not be because they use an untainted soy when making the product and then add in other "natural" ingredients. So in short bird safe candles are quite hard to find, and that's why I'm making them. It's taken a lot of research to verify the information. You did the right thing slic! Way to go champ.
