My little guy LOVES millet and I usually offer it to him on a regular basis. I was wondering if there is such a thing as too much millet? He just loves it so much that it's hard to say no!

My vet told me the other day not to give inca more then 1/2 a millet a week. Im not sure if thats right or wrong, but thats what we give our little chicken, and we put it on the bottom of his cage, when he goes down to forage he finds it and carries it up and feels acomplished, because afterwards all he does is chirp while hes eating it and makes smacking sounds!hehe

I usually Peg a nice big Millet spray on the boys cage or play stand and it lasts about a week...I don`t give it every week just occassionally , it gives them something to pick at , they never just guts it down in one go I like it that they just nibble it and it lasts so long ..they finished one today but I will probably wait till the weekend to put another up....

it hard to say how much got to consider that there is millet in most seed mixture

My guys are on Roudybush crumbles and Vetafarm South American mix pellets and even though I will sprinkle some budgie seed on their meal of a night they really prefer pellets and don`t bother much with seed at all..so the millet they get is just something else to munch for them...

Yoshi's Girl, I can totally relate. Rico eats the entire millet spray all at once, no matter the size. He loves it too, and would choose it over everything else offered.

So, I give him half a spray about 2x per week. He seems satisfied with that.

I guess I am the millet miser of the bunch I give Zazu a piece maybe 2" big about once a week. I clip it on his play gym while he is off it and then let him find it. He normally chows down so I think if I let an entire spray, he would totally pig out on it.

Hee hee, he is out on his cage and I can hear him saying "step up" "step up" and then whistling.

yes there is such a thing as too much millet, but once a week in small portions like everyone here has been saying should be fine.
