Every other tuesday is when I go shopping for the organic food, and today they got some nice treats. Of course duke never eats much of his treat, but nonetheless they all get a snack fest!. For starters today they received a banana, a hand full of whole green beans each, and some apples to feast on!. Tonight I'm gonna steam them up some broccoli, and bake some sweet potatoes. So Today is their day to shine!

LOL...I thought I'd try a special treat for Simon last night since he has been gone a few days, and since so many people were recomending sweet potatos, I bought one and baked it for him last night. You'd have thought I'd put poop in his food bowl. He looked at me like "huh...you want me to eat that???" He wouldn't even touch it! Pogo, on the other hand, dived right in and had it all over his face before he was done!

Yeah duke is a picky eater too, but the conures are a mess! I spend more tiem cleaning them up after they eat then it takes them to eat the food lol.

Sweet potato gets fed on rare occasion because of my walls

I feel like I need to set up the birds in the bathtub so they can make all the mess they want....ha ha

Well I know Ness loves
pumpkin seeds like anything
she is a terrible picky eater
her fav treat are goji berries
and dried mango
I tried giving her blueberries and raspberries
but to her they looked to weird and she wouldn't
even go near them! (grumbles about the cost of the raspberries but
in the end I ate them so not to waste tee hee)
she will eat sweet potato but only if it has skin on
it, is that weird? is that ok to feed her like that?
it is steamed, she loves it all mushy.

I make a sweet potato "casserole" that my QP and cockatiels love. I take a whole sweet potato (cooked) and mix with mashed kidney beans, brown rice, and raisins. They aren't always crazy about the raisins, but they go crazy for everything else!

I was told that QQ liked yams. Ummmmmmmm......not so much it turns out. And he will not eat out of a seperate bowl either. I have to dump his pellets and put fresh food in the bowl.
