So Clyde and I are sitting in front of Bonnie's cage trying to convince her we won't eat her, and I said "Hi, Bonnie!" and Clyde leans forward from my hand, looking at her, and makes kissing noises and says "Hi, Bonnie!" ohmy.gif Just as clear as a bell. I had no idea he knew that! Of course, he's heard it about a thousand times since we got her because I say it to her over and over, but ... !!!! I'll bet he can say all sorts of things I don't know about. laugh.gif He wouldn't do it again and is probably appalled that he let me find out he could say it once. tongue.gif Little green brat that he is. And he was clearly speaking to her. Amazing that these birds not only learn to talk, but to do it appropriately!

Oh yes, I have seen and heard Zazu out on his playtop saying "Step up" while lifting a leg up. Over and over. Yet, if I say "step up" sometimes, he acts like I just spoke to him in Hungarian. biggrin.gif

They are little stinkers but boy, aren't they fun stinkers?

Awww...that's so cute! Simon also talks in text which always amazes me. I didn't know that caiques ever really talked at all, so we were also amazed yesterday that he's started saying "step up" when he wants to be picked up (which is ALL the time) and when we say it to him. It's not as clear as Simon's talking, but it's obviously "step up"

Sammy was very angry with me one morning when I had to get him up much later than usual and he stayed mad all day. That afternoon I shut him up in his cage and told him I had to go to the store. That little green smart alec looked me right in the face and said, "Good. Stay there!"

Hahahahaha. I am trying to teach QQ how to say ho, ho, ho for the holidays. Luckily I got him from a woman who loved him very much and already tried teaching this to him....hopefully it is just a refresher course.

Oh, that's hilarious!

I think this explains how Bonnie learned her name so quickly. laugh.gif Not only do we sit in front of her saying "Pretty Bonnie" and "Hi, Bonnie" and "cute little Bonnie" and so forth all the time, but during the day when we're gone, Clyde must be sitting there saying "Hi, Bonnie!" biggrin.gif
