I suggest getting his wings clipped asap. I had the same issue when we brought Santanta home 10 days ago. Now, he tries to fly but does not get far and now that he is getting more comfortable with me, he doesn't run off. If he flies off his perch, he just stands on the floor until I get him. So, just give your little guy some to familiar with his surroundings and you and things should be fine.

He is just getting comfortable in his new home. It could take days to a few weeks depending on the bird. Everything is new to him and he will be scared until he knows he is safe. Nothing to worry about right now.

Just give him time...They told me Ava was tame and talking as well, which turned out NOT to be true. But with lots of time and patience and research, she became a cuddly girl who never stops talking...You need to learn how to safely "towel" the bird to get him out of his cage, put him a a travel cage, bring him to a professional to get his wings clipped..When back at home, give him some space and gently talk to him everyday for a few weeks, slowly putting treats into the cage to bribe him, haha. Occasionally 'towel' him to take him out and gently stroke his head and talk softly to him. You will not get a tame bird in a matter of days, it usually takes weeks or months, but it can happen...And you need to accept right now that some birds NEVER talk in 'human'. You must love him anyway!!! Just read all the advice on this great forum, that's how I learned to get along with Ava. Good luck with your new bird!
