Our quaker has recently decided to be nice to everyone except my wife. He likes to bite at her and won't let her have him step up or if he does he flies away immediatly. This just started recently up to now she was on good terms with him.

Different day different bird today he's just lovey to all. I don't quite understand?

They're moody and get notions in their little heads and there's no figuring them out. Maybe he didn't like the shirt she was wearing. Don't laugh -- my husband has a red plaid shirt that Clyde simply HATES and Hubby can't wear it with Clyde nearby because Clyde attacks it. I have a shirt he doesn't like, too. He's not fond of red AT ALL.

I didn't see this post before, but our qp is like that from time to time with my hubby Mark. It started one afternoon about 3 months ago when he went to get him out of his outside cage, and Simon didn't want to come out. Mark was insistant and he ended up getting bitten so hard it drew blood. Since Simon had never bitten anyone, much less his daddy, like that, Mark screamed and pulled his hand out fast. That evidently was a "drama reward" for Simon. Quakers seem to love drama, and once they get it for a bite, they'll do it over and over. Did anything like that happen with your wife? Since then, we've worked with him a lot...if Simon decides to bite Mark, he will just have to take it, and slightly push into the bite to put Simon off balance so he will let go, but never never react in anyway at all. It's gotten a lot better, but still, sometimes out of the blue, he will lunge for Mark and give him a good ole bite.

Honestly I have no idea why they do this. Mark has always been just as envolved with our fids as I am, so it's a mystery why Simon has chosen me as his favorite.

Click to view attachmentThanks for the help Tobi has made up with my wife, fickled I guess. Now his only thing with her is attacking her rings. He can be a little stinker, my wife thinks its funny that he will follow me around the house. He's only 5 months old, he has learned a few things, likes to give kisses and meows like the cat when you ask him what the kitty says. Click to view attachment
