I have had my Quaker for 2 months, last night I had Dini on my finger & was talking to her. Saying I love you, pretty bird ect. well she started this head bobbing & all of a sudden there is regurgitated corn on my shirt! Why did she do this?? she was fluffed up & looked like she was content at the time... hmmmm huh.gif
Siobhan
It means she wuvs you and wants to make sure you're well fed. wub.gif You are, of course, under no obligation to actually EAT the offering, though it would probably be polite to pretend to. Think of it the same way you would when a toddler dumps half his toy box in your lap, one toy at a time.
Abrahm
Yes, this is normal, Phoenix tells me he loves me like this quite often

laugh.gif I have read about this and also heard that birds do this when they love you. They do it to another bird or a toy as well if they love it. Personally, I can't ever see QQ doing it. And none of mine birds do it. I am not sure if I am jealous or if I should thank my lucky stars. laugh.gif

Clyde acts like he's going to do this, but doesn't actually present me with any tangible evidence. laugh.gif I'm just as glad. That way he gets to make the gesture, but we don't actually have to cope with the, um, gift. tongue.gif

Yeah, both Simon and Pogo do the same thing....head bobs up and down and I can tell something comes up, but luckily they keep it in their mouths...lol. I remember when I was a kid and had 10 budgies, they'd do this to themselves in the mirror, then shake their little heads and the seed would fly everywhere! (that was back in the days when seed was what you gave your fids...never even heard of pellets back then)
Horatio
Horatio does this as well to my wife (although he and I get along very well, I am definitely not his favourite).

It is very much a sign of affection. Your Quaker is showing you he is a good provider.

I have read on this forum previously and in books that the best way to deal with this is to ignore it and distract the bird with something else they like. If you make a fuss over it the bird will continue or even increase the behaviour and it can become quite a problem.
Sandi Kiwis Mom
I agree with Horatio, although it is cute now.......after awhile you won't like it. I nipped it in the bud with Mr. Kiwi years ago. Of course that was after I called the Vet in a panic laugh.gif I didn't come on the forum much in 2000... biggrin.gif
