Last year we had one of the members of our parrot club come in and do a presentation on her sanctuary.

The woman's name is Diane Dwyer, and she's given her life, and her home over to helping out parrots who are in dire need of a safe place to live. Diane does some amazing work with her rescues. Unconditional love does make a difference

I highly recommend visiting her site if you need help with plucking issues. I'm not saying she'll give you advice, or the answer to why your beloved fid plucks. So don't get all excited yet.

She has however designed a cape/collar for her plucker/mutilator parrots, and has her email address posted on her site, for anyone needing directions on how to make one of your own.

Wow...what an awesome thing that woman is doing for those poor birds. I cannot believe that people can be so horrible to another living creature. I couldn't even finish ready about Zival, (once Nikki)...I got physically sick to my stomach. How could anyone, drunk or not, treat a magnificent creature so horribly? I'm gonna go give my fiddo's some extra cuddling now...I just hate thinking that there are birds out there right now...millions of them, being treated so badly.

What a website! What a great person she is! Thank you so much for sharing! Kind of have a few tears here........seeing those birds.....and knowing that someone was so gracious to help them out........

Where's that link to the turtle neck sweaters for pluckers? I might be making up the turtle neck part but I don't remember sweaters of some sort!
