So after staying up all nigh tot watch doctor who last night, I fell asleep 5 minutes before it came on! Anyways I was enjoying sleeping in, and everytime the phone rang I was praying that it wasn't for me. I was ready to hibernate for a few more hours. Second call of the morning was for me. It was the distributor. They called to apologize for all the fooey, and wanted to let me know that I am approved, and all set up! We talked a lot about their products, and more so about their future products. I'm much more pleased with them then what I have been for the last few weeks, but all's well now. The tough part is going to be putting up products. The crappy thing is that they don't have as many food products as what I would like, but they do havea few different brands, and I will definitely need to get them up quickly as I know there's a lot of people who do not have a place near them to buy food from, or they don't want to support the store, because of their hostility towards animals. I plan on having a partially opened store by next week, unless I get too busy with my daughter, but when it comes to her I just don't really care about my own agenda so we'll see.

So long story short. HOORAY I've got stuff to sell on my website!!!!

Thats great, congratulations. Please let me know if you eer come across any Bird e licious food. The web site is gone and all I can find is her myspace page. I am going to the Charlotte NC bird fair next sat hopfully she will have some there.

Glad things are coming together for you!

aparantly bird e licious went out of business. So it looks like you're way out of luck on getting their food anymore. That sucks, especially when your birds have loved it for so long.

ok, so I am getting up there in years.....LOL....I take it you are opening a store online? You will be selling birdstuff........right. Sorry if I missed the original post. Do you have a link to it?
am0z
Yes I'm opening up a bird store. I've been working to get it up and running for a little over a month. Once I have all my products together I'll post the link and put it in my profile. Occasionally in live chat I'll put up th elink while I'm testing stuff out to show it off. I'm not the biggest fan of my website right now, but it's a free one so I can't complain quite yet. I will have a link to it up within a week. I'm going to be slowly adding categories so if there is anything is particualar that you are looking for, i.e. perches, cleaners, swings etc... please make it known and I'll put it on the top of my list. Also I try to keep my prices fiercely competitive so never be shy about telling me that you can find something for less. The idea of the site is that people can have the same feel of going to a pet store, and not have to go to a pet store. So questions and comments are greatly appreciated. Right now I'm playing around with getting another website instead to make my sales site so I can better equip it to serve the masses.

Thanks. I'm gonna need some luck lol! I'm accepting starbucks donations while I'm typing away putting up all the products on the site. Mango and I went outside for a little bit to absorb some vitamin D in. I've got to make some vendor calls this week too. So I'm gonna be real busy. This is a lot of work but it's so much fun guys! I'm sure it's the caramel macchiato talking, but I'm really enjoying this!

Best of luck to ya Amoz..hope all works well for you!

One of the things I purchase most online is large toys for my macaws..the bird store i buy my pellets from simply charges WAY too much for toys that Sebastion turns to toothpicks in a short time..I usuallu buy from here... http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pet_...=5059+5648+5704
but would throw some buisness your way for sure smile.gif Needless to say they go through the large toys fairly quickly.. I also buy in-shell nuts online alot. They go through about 5 lbs a week and in the off season can be hard to find (thank goodness that season is upon us!)

just thought I would share what i buy on-line. Again, Good Luck!
Dodger's stuff is easier for me to find and cheaper to buy in the shops near my house

Would you ship to canada? biggrin.gif

Yes Andrea We can ship to canada. Gypsy I just looked up the prices of my macaw sized toys, and WOW those things cost an arm and a leg. I've been so busy that I've barely even looked at my site, so it's gonna be one of those weeks for me lol.

They do cost alot..but if its something that will last him a bit its worth it.A bored macaw is a LOUD macaw laugh.gif The ones at the bird shop near my house just charges too much for something he destroys by the next day.I have paid $60 for a toy from the site I posted and its was by far the best money spent on them for toys...darn thing lasted him a month and that is amazing!! Other then a un-treated pine 2x4 cut in 1/2 and hung from a chain (I know quite the imagination for toy making I have lol) that lasted him 2 months its the toy that lasted the longest!
I tell ya, I could open a new business and employ the fiddos as my workers!!

Angie's toothpicks (made by the macaws) and paper shredding (none other then Dodger) laugh.gif

Great news OZ.
So good to hear that it is all a goer.

Have you ever heard of "instant ounces" ????
They have stopped making it.
The parrot breeding group folk are looking for it or something similar.
I have not used it nor do I have any, Von does.
You may want to PM her and look into this type of product to sell on your site.

Good luck.
Happy selling.
