Since Quincy is gone, Bailey his cagemate, is in too big of a cage. I want to put her, in a smaller cage, since shes alone now. The problem is, the cage i want to put her in, needs 2 bars welded, as the cage bars are loose. What kind of weld, will be safe for her ? I know, lead & zinc, is bad, Does any body know, what kind of weld, will be bird safe ? Please let me know, Thank-you, Susan

I think most welding of metal would be risky if they were able to get to it to chew on...

I would think if it was a stainless steel cage it could be welded okay. As long as they used a stainless steel rod.
As for welding a steel powder coated cage, I think it would be okay if you got it re-powder coated so they couldnt' chew the weld but unless it's changed since I last checked powder coating is pretty pricey. It worked out much much less for me to buy a new cage.
