I have noticed that Griffin REALLY hates any perch that isn't totally still and stable. Any kind of swing or rope he HATES. Are your birds the same or do they enjoy playing on swings?
Jessica~Pickles
I don't have any swings, but Pickles is like that too. She had a wide variety of perches when I bought her, but I've switched them all to rope perches because she feels the most comfortable on those. (And she doesn't chew on them so I don't have to worry about her swallowing any rope). She likes wooden ones too as long as they are stable, she has one in there now and one sandpapery one but only those kinds. There was a wooden manzanita perch she came with that wouldn't support her weight so she was too scared to go near it poor thing.

Kiwi has all kinds of perches and doesn't seem to be bothered by them. He has a swing that he has had for about 8 yrs, he loves it. Yesterday I bought a different kind of perch with holes in it and he absolutely will not go near it. Granted I didn't really give him enough time to get use to it huh.gif

Clyde has a swing but he wouldn't use it so I took it out of his cage. Bonnie likes hers, but she's the original Energizer bunny and bounces all over her cage playing with everything. Clyde gets very unhappy if what he's sitting on isn't stable, so that's probably why he didn't like the swing.

My Elliot hates things that move as well. But my sun conure just loves swings. I did get Elliot a boing and he loved that...until he chewed it apart!
donut
Donut has a swing that he uses a bit of the time.
If we put him on it he will stay and playfor ages.
Some FIDS like em, some dont.

Yeah, Simon is the same way, no swings for him, but he does have a rope boing that is almost chewed to shreds but he loves that.

Yup, Kermit hates any perch that isn't stable. No swings for him.

No swings for Darwin either, but I haven't tried one yet. He has a variety of perches though (rope, wooden, etc.) and he doesn't seem bothered by any of them.

The only swing that Verde likes is his big circle one that hangs from the ceiling. And it took him months to go near that. Now he loves it! biggrin.gif

Pascal hates swinging, too, unless it is off my long hair or the curtains. Trouble maker. He has a swing, but whenever we put it in the cage, he engineers it so the door braces underneath it. That way, he has a new perch and his doo is duely propped open.
helwa
cosmo seems scared of swings but once he is on he is ok, i have a rope swing i got from petdiscounters.com and i hang it in a way that it doesnt really move and he likes it better that way.

he is, however, terrified beyond belief of the plane wooden dowel perches. i was trying to put one in his cage and he actually ran away sad.gif

T-Bird is horrified of anything that isn't really stable, yet he loves riding on my shoulder. NO swing for him.

Maybe Quakers just aren't generally into swinging? Bonnie loves hers and has even taken to sleeping on it -- she's always on it when I uncover her in the morning -- but Clyde just never was crazy about his.

Kiwi has one but eh doesn't actually swing.. He uses it to climb from perch tp perch when its in his cage and hangs out on top of it.. weird lil fid but definitely prefers other perches to it... lol prolly just a quaker thing..
