Well, the cage I posted about yesterday that I saw on craigslist is not gonna work at all since she finally got back to me last night and told me the bars were 1 1/2" spacing. So, I'm back to the drawing board. I read on here that lots of you have gotten cages from Queen City Pets, so I was wondering if anyone got this particular cage? http://www.queencitypets.com/GA82217.asp It's not my ideal cage, but I desperately need a bigger one for Pogo, and really can't afford to spend tons at this time. If not this cage, anyone have any other recommendations for a decent sized cage under 200.00? I don't need a playtop because Pogo won't stay on it for more than 30 seconds, I just need some inside space for him. This is the one I have now: http://www.queencitypets.com/8001818.asp . It's only been used for about 3 months....first we had a senegal in it and he loved it, but Pogo is just way too active to stay in one this size and we can't do with him what we do with Simon, which is to leave the door open when we are at home so he can go from the cage to the top etc....he can't be left in a room for a single minute unless we are in there with him. Any ideas how much to ask for this on craigslist if we get a new one?

Thanks in advance for advice!!!

I have that cage and 17x22 is way too small I believe also for a caique. I bought it for my peachfront conure but by the time I got toys, swing, happyhut, 2 climbing ropes and everything else in, there was no room for the bird!! Poco (yes with a C-LOL) is now in a 32x24x60 cage and he loves it. Now it is a Kings cage, dome top and was over $200 but there is a cage that is excellantly made for just over $100 I believe and it is the same size-its one of those square cages with the ramp in it-have you seen those? Alot of posters on my tiel board use it and they love that cage!!!! I'll ask for the link and post it. Bren

Mine looks alot like that but it is a HQ cage and bigger. Not that Verde is ever in it unless he eats or goes to sleep at night...lol.

that exact cage is offered in both the 22x17 and the 26x20, at very similar prices. Try just going to the next size up !! Try this one

Here is the cage I was thinking about-its alot of room for little money, very spacious. All my fids live in cages this size-now theirs are Kings cages for 3 x the cost but if I'd known about this cage before I would have gotten it.

Someone makes this cage with only one door, I can't find the link, I'll keep looking.

Yeah, that's the problem I'm having....hardly room for the bird with everything else in there! We originally got it for a senegal that we did not keep, and it was fine for him because like my with my qp, as long as we were home, we could leave the door open, and he could be in or out of the cage, and spent most of his time out on the playtop which I had put lots of toys, and a big branch that came up thru the side of the cage to hang toys from...which left him enough inside room. Pogo, on the other hand, cannot be left out of his cage for a second unless we are right there because he won't stay in or on it at all. The one that you posted the link for looks nice, but I wish I could see it in person. Do you know if those food bowls are accessible from the outside of the cage? I did see a similar cage on the queencity site, but the food bowls weren't outside accessible, and for some reason, I really prefer the ones that have the stainless steal bowls.

I did see that cage as well, and it looks good, but I'd never use the opening at the top because I have too much stuff that hangs from the top of the cage. My problem is that what I REALLY want is one of the high dollar dome top ones, and I just don't have the cash to go that route right now sad.gif . Do ya'll think that if I do get a new one and put my other one for sale on Craigslist that 100.00 would be too much to ask? It's in perfect condition.

There is something to be said for having a flat area on the top of cage. My Quaker really likes to hang out on top of his cage (I do need a separate play area). He has his bath in a glass plate on top of his cage and he plays with his foot toys up there too. In the morning I just open up his door (leaving the playtop doors closed) and he climbs up and hangs out on top and it is quick to get him back in before work.
