It is been 3 years since I lost my cockatiel Monkey. She was one of the best birds I have ever had. She was perfectly health, but died prematurely at the age of 3. Her happiness killed her! I didn't have any othe birds at that time and the vet said she was laying eggs because she found a strong bond with me. He said it meant she was very happy and I was doing a great job being her friend. The next morning I woke up and found her lifeless body at the bottom of the cage. I found out she was egg bound. She was so exhausted from laying eggs that she could not get the last one layed. She already had a collectionn of 13 eggs! I miss her so much. At least I know she died a happy bird! RIP Monkey!
